
Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Long Bien District, Duong Hoai Nam, affirmed that this is an important meeting to implement the Party's major policies on the revolution of restructuring and streamlining the apparatus.
In the Proposal on the policy of rearranging wards presented by Chairman of the District People's Committee Nguyen Manh Ha, 13 wards of Long Bien district together with part of the administrative boundaries of two communes Co Bi and Bat Trang of Gia Lam district were arranged into 4 wards: Long Bien, Viet Hung, Bo De, Phuc Loi.
Of which, with a natural area of 19.15km2 and a population of 77,335 people, Long Bien ward has the largest area and the largest population; ranked second is Viet Hung ward (with a natural area of 12.86km2, population of 67,978 people), followed by Bo De ward (with a natural area of 12.57km2; population of 66,445 people); the smallest is Phuc Loi ward (with a natural area of 10.30km2; population of 58,886 people).

On April 19 and 20, the district organized a public consultation on the plan to rearrange the wards. As a result, 99.14% of households agreed with the plan to rearrange the wards and 98.51% agreed with the plan to name the new wards.

After listening to the draft resolution and the review report, the Long Bien District People's Council delegates voted 100% in favor of the plan to arrange commune-level administrative units within the district.
Also at the meeting, the Long Bien District People's Council reviewed and approved the district's state budget settlement for 2024, ensuring compliance with deadline requirements to promptly hand over financial management before the end of the district-level administrative unit's operations; approved additional funding for maintenance and repair of technical infrastructure in the area until the end of 2025 to ensure smooth operations to serve the people.
