The play-off match is a competition between the 13th-placed club of the 2024-2025 V-League (Club A) and the second-placed club of the 2024-2025 first division (Club B) that has met the requirements for the licensing process and has been granted a license by the VFF to participate in the 2025-2026 national football championship. The two participating teams will play only 01 match, if after 90 minutes of official play the score is tied , there will be a penalty shootout to determine the winning club.
With the fierce competition in both the V-League and the first division, at present, the pair of matches participating in the play-off has not been clearly determined. In the first division, after round 21, Cong Phuong's Binh Phuoc Club has 41 points, 1 point more than PVF-CAND Club and the result in the final round (round 22 taking place on June 21) will decide the 2nd position, which means the right to participate in the play-off.
If Binh Phuoc Club wins 2nd place, the play-off match will take place at Thong Nhat Stadium.

Meanwhile, in the V-League, the race to avoid direct relegation and having to participate in the play-off is still undecided between Binh Dinh Club, Da Nang Club and Quang Nam Club. After round 25 of the V-League, Binh Dinh Club is at the bottom of the table with 21 points, 1 point behind Da Nang Club.
Quang Nam Club currently has 25 points, however, when considering the sub-indexes in direct confrontation, they are ranked below SHB Da Nang Club (first leg: Quang Nam Club 3-2 Da Nang, second leg: Da Nang Club 1-0 Quang Nam, Quang Nam Club is lower than Da Nang in the opponent's field goal index).

At this time, there are 2 scenarios. In case the Central Club meets the Southern Club, the 2024-2025 Bia Sao Vang play-off match will be held at Thong Nhat Stadium (HCMC). In case the Central Club meets the Northern Club, the play-off match will be held at Vinh Stadium (Nghe An Province).
