This is an activity within the framework of the Project "Supporting agricultural livelihoods adapting to climate change to enhance the role of women in disadvantaged communes" funded by the Korea International Development Agency (KOICA).
At the conference, Plan Project experts presented survey reports, findings on gender, market assessments as well as potential value chains, and suitable alternative livelihood models in Dan Hoa and Truong Son communes. These are two particularly difficult mountainous communes with a majority of ethnic minorities living there.

According to the project survey, the multidimensional poverty rate of the two localities remains high, income is unstable, livelihood models are small and vulnerable to natural disasters. From the collected data, the project makes specific recommendations to enhance gender equality, enhance economic empowerment for ethnic minority women; propose potential agricultural models to promote local advantages as well as adapt to climate change and develop along the value chain.

At the conference, departments, branches, units, businesses and local people shared, contributed ideas and proposed promising and suitable agricultural models to be implemented in the coming time. In particular, focusing on models such as: Growing bamboo for bamboo shoots, growing organic peanuts, growing ginger, mushroom growing chain, raising hybrid Ri chickens, etc.
At the conference, relevant units and localities signed a three-way cooperation program between the Department of Agriculture and Environment Project Board, Plan Quang Tri Office and partners, including: Bamovina Organic Agriculture Cooperative, Tuan Linh Clean Mushroom Production and Agricultural Business Cooperative, Thien Nam Technical Company Limited.
Bringing businesses into the project will open up opportunities for people to access technical expertise, link product markets, develop raw material areas, and aim to build large-scale value chains, contributing to the development of green, sustainable agriculture and adaptation to climate change.
