• Ca Mau signed a cooperation agreement to expand the super-intensive shrimp farming model.
  • Signing of cooperation agreement to organize the 2nd Ca Mau Crab Festival

Signing a cooperation agreement with cooperatives in Ca Mau is a strategic step to meet the increasing demand for output and quality of live crabs for export, especially to the Chinese market. In addition, the company is also expanding to two other demanding markets , Taiwan and Singapore.

Mr. Nguyen Van Phu, Vice Chairman of Thanh Nien Global's Board of Directors signed with Mr. Nguyen Hoang An, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cai Bat Crab Cooperative, Hung My commune.

It is known that Thanh Nien Global currently accounts for about 30% of the total live crab export output of Ca Mau. By strengthening links with cooperatives, the enterprise hopes to ensure a stable supply, aiming to account for 50% of the total output by 2026.

Mr. Nguyen Van Phu, Vice Chairman of Thanh Nien Global's Board of Directors, shared: "Three years ago, realizing the great potential of Ca Mau crab, we began to prepare the necessary conditions to build a sustainable industry here. Our staff went to communes and hamlets to learn about crabs and how people raise them, with the desire to form a unique brand called Ca Mau crab, which is also the cultural pride of the southernmost land of the Fatherland. We want to work with Ca Mau farmers to create, build and elevate this brand."

Ca Mau is a locality with many natural advantages in crab farming. Over the past time, the province has gradually transformed that potential into actual output, aiming to reach 31,300 tons of crab by 2025 on a total area of more than 418,000 hectares of combined farming.

According to experts, to enhance the value and position of Ca Mau crabs, the province needs to promote the standardization of farming areas with traceability, support disease prevention techniques and develop export processing chains. This is the way to turn "abundant crabs" into "valuable crabs".

At the signing ceremony, Thanh Nien Global symbolically signed with 5 cooperatives, then will proceed to sign with other fisheries cooperatives in Ca Mau province.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang An, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cai Bat Crab Cooperative, said: “Ca Mau considers crabs a typical product. We are not worried about a shortage of crabs, we just hope to have a stable output with a reasonable purchase price to go the long way with businesses, expanding the export market. This signing is an opportunity for Ca Mau crabs to return to their rightful position, with higher economic value, helping to improve people's lives.
