Working together to open up new avenues for production.

Lang Khay 1 village in Kien Dai commune currently has 142 households with 648 inhabitants and is located about 20 km from the commune center. Previously, due to the lack of concrete roads within the fields, people mainly traveled and transported agricultural products along narrow field embankments; during the rainy season, these areas were often muddy and slippery, causing many difficulties for the daily lives and production of households. The introduction of mechanization into agricultural production was therefore significantly affected, increasing costs and reducing labor efficiency.

To address this situation, the Kien Dai commune government has intensified its efforts in disseminating information and mobilizing people to donate land and contribute labor to expand rural roads. In 2025, in Lang Khay 1 village alone, 35 households donated land totaling over 2,000 m2, contributing to the concrete paving of 750 m of rural roads, creating favorable conditions for transportation of agricultural products and the development of agricultural production.

Mr. Ma Van Tao, Head of Lang Khay 1 village, said: "The mobilization process faced many difficulties because most of the affected area is agricultural land, directly impacting the livelihoods of the households. To create consensus among the people, along with promoting propaganda, my family set an example by donating the entire pond area to open the road. Thanks to that, the movement received a positive response from the villagers."

Not only Mr. Tao's family, but in many villages in the commune, the movement to donate land for rural road construction is also taking place enthusiastically. Many households have voluntarily donated a portion of their agricultural land, even cutting down old trees and dismantling auxiliary structures to create space for construction. It is noteworthy that the implementation process has not generated any complaints or questions, showing a high level of consensus between the people and the local government. In particular, people not only donated land but also actively participated in labor days, contributing to speeding up the construction progress. Ms. Ly Thi Lan, from Ban Ho village, said: “Before, every time we harvested rice, we had to carry it on foot across slippery roads, which was very difficult. Since the concrete road was built, vehicles can reach the area, making transportation much easier. My family's land donation may not be large, but it is a shared responsibility; everyone wants to contribute to the development of our homeland.”

Improved infrastructure promotes economic development.

According to a report from the People's Committee of Kien Dai commune, in 2025, over 100 households in the commune donated land, totaling approximately 7,500 m2, to serve the construction of rural and inter-field roads. The total length of concrete roads connecting villages and inter-fields that were constructed was 3.654 km and has been completed and put into use.

The expansion and paving of rural roads have brought many practical benefits to the people. The new roads not only facilitate travel but also create conditions for the application of machinery in production, from land preparation and planting to harvesting. As a result, labor productivity has increased, production costs have decreased, and people's incomes have improved. Comrade Bui Manh Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Kien Dai commune, said: “The movement to donate land for rural road construction has received very high consensus from the people. This is an important factor helping the locality complete the transportation criteria in the new rural development program.”

In 2026, Kien Dai commune will continue to develop investment plans to upgrade transportation infrastructure and facilities serving production and daily life. The commune plans to further concrete 2-3 km of rural roads, upgrade several main village roads; construct and reinforce irrigation canals; and renovate essential infrastructure such as cultural centers and drainage systems. Through these efforts, the commune aims to gradually meet the criteria for advanced new rural development, fulfilling the socio-economic development needs of the locality.

The expansion and paving of rural roads not only facilitates agricultural production and transportation but also opens up a sustainable economic development path for the people of Kien Dai commune. More importantly, this is the result of the consensus and joint efforts between the government and the people. Through these practical actions, the rural landscape of Kien Dai commune is increasingly improving, creating a solid foundation for the locality to continue enhancing the quality of new rural development criteria.
