Advice on developing industry, trade and services for Ho Chi Minh City in the new period

(HTV) - On the morning of September 23, the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with Tuoi Tre Newspaper and UEH.ISB Talent School (University of Economics, Ho Chi Minh City) to organize the closing workshop of the "Ho Chi Minh City Industry and Trade Development Forum".

Attending the event were Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Dang Minh Thong; Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Pham Thanh Kien and Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Cuong.

With the theme "Suggestion - Action - International Integration", the activity summarizes the nearly 3-month journey of implementing the Forum on Suggestion for Developing the City's Industry, Trade and Services Sector.

At the workshop, thematic presentations focused on key orientations and solutions to turn Ho Chi Minh City into the leading industrial - commercial - logistics center of the region.

Launched in July 2025, the Organizing Committee has received more than 150 research papers and valuable and dedicated suggestions from domestic and foreign scientists , experts, and leaders of many businesses and people related to many fields.

At the workshop, thematic presentations focused on key orientations and solutions to turn Ho Chi Minh City into the leading industrial - commercial - logistics center of the region. Along with that, many solutions were proposed to promote trade, enhance competitiveness, towards the goal of turning Ho Chi Minh City into the largest commercial center in the country; analyzing the strategic role of forming and connecting supply chains, so that Ho Chi Minh City becomes an important link in the global value chain.

At the same time, the Organizing Committee sent to the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee a set of suggestions, making practical contributions to breakthrough solutions to develop the city's industry - trade - services after the merger and towards a new development cycle. 10 excellent suggestions evaluated by the Voting Council based on 5 criteria: Creativity, practical value, implementation ability, spillover impact and conformity with the development orientation of Ho Chi Minh City in the new period were also honored.
