The effectiveness of the intensive cultivation model for specialty longan in Tan Hung commune.

On August 14th, at the Dien Bien village cultural center hall in Tan Hung commune, the Management Board of the Project "Conservation and Development of Specialty Longan and Lychee Growing Areas in Hung Yen Province, giai đoạn 2020-2025, with orientation to 2030" (Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hung Yen Province) organized a field conference to evaluate the effectiveness of the intensive cultivation model of specialty longan in Tan Hung commune (hereinafter referred to as the model).

The delegates toured the model.

The model was implemented in Dien Bien village, Tan Hung commune, starting from the 2023 Winter-Spring crop season with the following longan varieties: rock sugar longan and ancient longan; on a scale of 2 hectares; with trees aged 13-15 years. The model applies intensive cultivation techniques: fertilization, flowering treatment techniques to increase fruit set, bark girdling techniques, pruning techniques, use of foliar fertilizers, organic fertilizers, and pesticides...

The longan orchard applies intensive cultivation techniques to produce abundant fruit with attractive appearance and good quality.

Assessment shows that applying technical measures in intensive cultivation of longan trees contributes to increasing the flowering and fruiting rate, reducing the incidence of pests and diseases. Simultaneously, it increases productivity, quality, and product appearance. In particular, the model contributes to changing people's perceptions of safe and sustainable organic agricultural production.
