The Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City said that right after the liberation day, from 1975, preschool education began to be built from small-scale childcare facilities, mainly serving the children of officials and employees in the context of the country's many difficulties. The first preschools such as the 19/5 Kindergarten and the City Kindergarten were established, marking the beginning of a formal preschool education system.
In the 1980s, along with the country's Renovation, preschool education was given more attention with the expansion of public educational institutions and the participation of non-public institutions, meeting the growing needs of society.
