Gremio Club Coach Confirms Luis Suarez Joins Inter Miami With Messi

Gremio will play Vasco da Gama at home at 4:30 a.m. on December 4 (Vietnam time) in the penultimate match of Brazil's Serie A. In the final match, Gremio will play away against Fluminense on December 7. These are the last matches of striker Luis Suarez in the Gremio shirt, before going to the United States to join Inter Miami with his close friend Messi to play from the 2024 MLS season (taking place in February).

The void left by Suarez will certainly exist in the next few years, because it is not easy to find a striker as talented and capable as him to replace him," coach Renato Gaucho shared, in a press conference before Suarez's final home match with Gremio.

"We tried very hard to keep Suarez. However, unfortunately, he has decided that he really wants to reunite with his best friend at Inter Miami, Messi. Gremio Club must now plan to find a replacement for Suarez," added coach Renato Gaucho.

Suarez joined Gremio in December 2022, signing a two-year contract. The 36-year-old Uruguayan has so far scored 26 goals in 52 matches for the Brazilian team.

Suarez's contract still runs until June 2024, but he has proactively requested to shorten the time until the end of 2023. The veteran striker also intended to leave Gremio since this summer, after Messi moved to Inter Miami. However, Gremio did not agree and offered him to play until the end of the season at the end of 2023, before reconsidering his intention to leave again.
