Gremio FC will face Vasco da Gama at 4:30 AM on December 4th (Vietnam time) at home in the penultimate match of the Brazilian Serie A. In their final match, Gremio will play away against Fluminense on December 7th. These will be striker Luis Suarez's last games for Gremio before he moves to the United States to join Inter Miami alongside his close friend Messi, starting in the MLS 2024 season (which begins in February).

American and Argentinian media outlets quickly announced Suarez's move to Inter Miami.

"We made every effort to keep Suarez. However, unfortunately, he made his decision and wanted to reunite with his best friend at Inter Miami, Messi. Gremio now has to plan to find a replacement for Suarez," added coach Renato Gaucho.
Suarez joined Gremio in December 2022, signing a two-year contract. The 36-year-old Uruguayan star has scored 26 goals in 52 appearances for the Brazilian club to date.
Suarez's contract is still valid until June 2024, but he has proactively requested to shorten it to the end of 2023. The veteran striker had also intended to leave Gremio since this summer, after Messi's arrival at Inter Miami. However, Gremio disagreed and offered him to play until the end of the 2023 season before reconsidering his decision to leave.
Suarez is very popular with Gremio fans.
Ultimately, Suarez chose to join Inter Miami alongside Messi. It is expected that after finishing the season in Brazil and saying goodbye to Gremio fans this weekend, Suarez will fly to Miami (USA) to complete the final procedures before signing a contract with Inter Miami and making his debut at the beginning of 2024.
