Coach Dinh The Nam decided to leave PVF a few days ago. He worked at the PVF center for eight years as the Head of the Advanced Training Team. Coach Dinh The Nam dedicated much of his time to youth development and directly worked with players from U11 to U21 at PVF.
In 2022, Mr. Dinh The Nam was assigned to lead the Vietnam U23 team to participate in the Southeast Asian U23 Championship in Cambodia. This tournament witnessed unprecedented difficulties for the Vietnam U23 team. Many members of the Vietnam U23 team contracted COVID-19 and were ineligible to play.

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) had to add 10 players and travel by road to quickly arrive in Cambodia. By the semi-final, goalkeeper Tran Liem Dieu had to play as a forward due to injuries to his teammates. Vietnam U23 defeated Timor Leste U23 and advanced to the final. Coach Dinh The Nam's team, despite having only 16 players, still beat Thailand U23 and won the tournament.
Coach Dinh The Nam brought a fresh perspective to the Vietnam U23 team with his attractive style of play. Afterward, he was assigned to lead the Vietnam U19 team. However, the former midfielder often only held "interim" roles at the national youth team levels.
During his career, Coach Dinh The Nam spent many years playing for Hai Phong Police Club, Air Force Club, and The Cong Club. He won the National Championship in 1990 with The Cong Club.
After parting ways with PVF, coach Dinh The Nam will spend time resting with his family. The 58-year-old strategist has left open the possibility of coaching professional teams in the future.
