Head coach Le Huynh Duc shared his thoughts at the press conference after the opening match victory of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Club.

In the opening match of the 2025-2026 V-League season on the evening of August 16, Ho Chi Minh City Police Club had an impressive debut in front of fans. Coach Le Huynh Duc and his team won 2-1 against strong opponent Hanoi Club. In turn, Nguyen Tien Linh (2nd minute) and Vo Huy Toan (28th minute) were the strikers who put their names on the scoreboard, contributing greatly to helping the home team win all 3 points in round 1. The only goal of Hanoi Club was scored by substitute striker Nguyen Van Tung (83rd minute).

Coach Le Huynh Duc: Play passionately but beautifully

At the beginning of the post-match press conference, Coach Le Huynh Duc shared: "On behalf of the teams, I would like to first thank the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City Police for giving me the opportunity to return to the team I used to play for. And today, the players did well, playing their best. However, the players' physical condition was not really good. In the second half, the players showed signs of fatigue. But anyway, I thank the players for playing their best," added coach Le Huynh Duc.

According to Coach Le Huynh Duc, the joy was doubled when the Ho Chi Minh City Police Club won on a very special occasion, which was the 80th anniversary of the People's Police's traditional day.

"Prefer attack over defense"

Regarding the tactics of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Club when facing the Hanoi Club, Mr. Duc commented: "Actually, I don't like the defensive tactical scheme. I prefer to attack. However, tactics must depend on personnel, not on preferences. When entering the match, I have to choose the appropriate tactics."
