Leeds are looking for a better manager than Farke.

Leeds United officially secured promotion back to the Premier League on April 23, but manager Daniel Farke's future is in doubt. Despite achieving the club's biggest goal this season, the German strategist may have to say goodbye to his role as Leeds manager.

The Guardian has revealed that Leeds’ board are considering sacking manager Daniel Farke this week. There are two reasons for Leeds’ controversial decision. Firstly, they are concerned about the strategist’s record in the Premier League when he was in charge of Norwich City.

Farke has won just six of his 49 Premier League games in charge. Despite helping Norwich City gain promotion to the Premier League twice in 2019 and 2021, the German has failed to keep the club in the top flight.

Leeds are worried that history will repeat itself next season if they continue to stick with Farke. In addition, the 48-year-old coach's statement about the transfer situation at Leeds United right after the promotion victory also angered the club's board.

“We lost a lot of key players and I had to work under a lot of restrictions on transfers,” Farke said shortly after his promotion. “For example, in the January transfer window, I wanted to add a few players and improve the squad, but I wasn’t allowed to do that.”

“To be honest, I am a little jealous of some other clubs, but I have to show complete trust in the team. I trust because I also love working with this group of players, but it is an extremely difficult task,” he added.

The German coach showed his dissatisfaction with the investment from Leeds' board of directors, when they were willing to sell key players without bringing in anyone to supplement them. Although Leeds completed their promotion target this season, the conflict between the head coach and the team's board of directors still smoldered.
