The Austrian manager has not guaranteed his stay until the end of the season amid Palace's slump and fan backlash.

Oliver Glasner is entering the most critical period since taking charge of Crystal Palace.

Following the 1-1 draw against Zrinjski Mostar in the first leg of the Conference League play-off on the morning of February 20th, the Austrian manager was subjected to boos from the away stadium stands. Chants of "We want Glasner out" and "He'll be sacked tomorrow morning" were clearly heard.

Palace's form is the main reason for the protests. The South London team has won only 1 of their last 15 matches in all competitions. In the Premier League, they are 13th and only 8 points above the relegation zone. That's not yet a critical situation, but it's enough to put pressure on Palace to try their best in every upcoming match.

Glasner's contract runs until the end of June. He confirmed that he informed chairman Steve Parish in October that he would be leaving the club when his contract expires. However, when asked if he would stay until the end of the season, he replied briefly: "Let's wait and see, you never know what will happen."

The 51-year-old manager took responsibility for the poor run of results. "We're not at our best. I take responsibility for the whole team," he said. However, Glasner stressed that Palace have now had more points than in 8 of the last 10 seasons.

He was also frank about the personnel difficulties. The sale of captain Marc Guehi to Manchester City in January left Glasner extremely disappointed. He stated that he "wasn't good enough to replace the players who left" and hadn't been able to integrate the new signings in the best way.

Palace signed Brennan Johnson and Jorgen Strand Larsen and loaned Evann Guessand during the winter transfer window. However, the impact of these new signings has yet to be seen.

This weekend's match against Wolverhampton Wanderers could be a turning point for Glasner. This isn't the first time Glasner has expressed a desire to leave; earlier in the season, he threatened to leave Crystal Palace if the club couldn't keep Guehi.

At the time, Palace canceled Guehi's transfer to Liverpool to ensure the two would play together in the 2025/26 season. However, the team has now lost Guehi to Manchester City and is about to face the departure of Glasner.
