The Indonesian newspaper Bola Times wrote: "PSSI will evaluate the recent performance of coaches Shin Tae Yong (South Korean) with the national team and Bima Sakti with the Indonesian U17 team. It is likely that one of the two coaches will be dismissed."
"The meeting between Shin Tae Yong and Bima Sakti took place with PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir," Bola Times further reported.

Both the Indonesian national team and the Indonesian U17 team have had unsuccessful performances in recent days. The Indonesian U17 team was eliminated in the group stage of the U17 World Cup, which was held on home soil.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian national team only managed to secure one point after the first two matches of the second round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in the Asian region.
The Indonesian team's objective for these two matches was to defeat Iraq and the Philippines, but ultimately they lost to Iraq 1-5 and drew with the Philippines 1-1 after falling behind.
Meanwhile, PSSI Chairman, billionaire Erick Thohir, revealed yesterday (November 23): "On the afternoon of November 22, I had a meeting with members of the PSSI Executive Board. We discussed several issues regarding preparations for next year's Asian Cup."
"The PSSI Executive Committee will convene the national team coaches to review their work over the past period," PSSI President Erick Thohir added.

The first two Indonesian football coaches summoned to explain themselves, at the request of the head of the Indonesian Football Federation, are Shin Tae Yong and Bima Sakti. These are the coaches of some of the most highly-regarded and heavily invested teams in Indonesia in recent times.
The Indonesian national team is, of course, the most important team in the country's football, while the Indonesian U17 team is participating in the World Cup as the host nation.
Although some observers believe the likelihood of coach Shin Tae Yong being sacked is low, given that his contract is nearing its end (June 2024), the possibility of PSSI dismissing the South Korean coach early is not out of the question.
This is a situation that occurred with coach Mano Polking of the Thai national team. Mano Polking's contract with the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) runs until February 2024, but the FAT lacked the patience to wait until that deadline.
FAT has dismissed coach Mano Polking at this time, giving a new coach time to familiarize himself with the team while awaiting the resumption of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in March 2024, as well as the start of the 2023 Asian Cup in January 2024.
