Second in the group is Botafogo with 3 points, goal difference 0. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid had to say goodbye to the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 when ranked 3rd with 3 points, goal difference -3.

Speaking after the match, coach Simeone frankly said: “We are not at the same level as PSG and Botafogo, but we had the same number of points as the Champions League champions and were eliminated. That is the cruelty of football.”

“I am disappointed with the result. The goal of the team was to go deep in the tournament and we did not do it. Atletico Madrid got six points, won two out of three games but still went out,” added the Argentine strategist.

Speaking about the tournament, Coach Simeone shared: “We knew it was a very good and attractive tournament, but for European teams it took place at the end of the season, and for South American teams it was in the middle of the season. This was somewhat disadvantageous for us.”
