Coach Vu Tien Thanh unexpectedly takes charge of Ninh Binh Club.

Former HAGL coach Vu Tien Thanh has been appointed as interim head coach of Ninh Binh Club, replacing Spanish coach Gerard Albadalejo.

After parting ways with foreign coach Gerard Albadalejo, Ninh Binh FC appointed the Director of the LPBank HAGL Academy as interim coach until a new coach is found. Therefore, in the upcoming Round 15 match againstSHB Da Nang, Mr. Vu Tien Thanh will make his debut for the team from the ancient capital of Hoa Lu.

Earlier, on the evening of March 2nd, Ninh Binh FC terminated the contracts of head coach Gerard Albadalejo and assistant coach Josep Maria Roma following poor results in the 2025/26 V-League season. Specifically, the Ninh Binh team lost to HAGL, CAHN, and most recently suffered a comeback defeat against Thép Xanh Nam Định.

Reportedly, Mr. Thanh will officially have his first meeting with the team on March 4th, aiming to stabilize the situation as soon as possible. The former HAGL coach's task is to help Ninh Binh return to the championship race, starting with securing 3 points in the next match to end their 3-game losing streak.

Currently, after 14 rounds, Ninh Binh FC is ranked 3rd in the standings, 8 points behind CAHN and having played one more match. The chance of winning the championship is still very high for the V-League newcomer if they perform as well as they did in the early stages of the first half of the season.
