Supporting pearl grouper breeds for households in Tri Nguyen island farming area

On August 27, Khanh Hoa Provincial Agricultural Service Center organized the handover of 8 HDPE cages, 9,600 pearl grouper fry and 225kg of industrial feed for Seamaster grouper - phase 1 to 4 households implementing the Central Agricultural Extension Project in 2025 "Building a model of pearl grouper farming using HDPE cages adapting to climate change associated with linking product consumption" in the offshore cage aquaculture area, Tri Nguyen Island, Nha Trang Ward.

In 2025, the project will support 18 HDPE cages, fish fry, feed and supplies for 9 households in 2 farming areas in Nha Trang and Dong Hai wards. Each household will be supported with 2 HDPE square cages, 2,400 pearl grouper fry, industrial feed and fish supplies. The State will support 50% of the project cost, the remaining will be contributed by households. The project will also support training on fish care techniques and cage assembly according to set standards.

The project aims to transfer scientific and technical advances in pearl grouper farming at sea using HDPE cages to households. From there, it will form and develop into a large-scale, modern, sustainable and efficient commodity production industry to provide products for domestic consumption and export; at the same time, reduce pressure on natural exploitation, create livelihoods, protect national sovereignty and contribute to the province's marine economy.
