Support the restoration and promotion of intangible culture of ethnic minorities at risk of extinction

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has approved the Plan and budget for organizing the Program to Support Research, Restoration, Conservation and Promotion of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Ethnic Minorities at Risk of Loss, under the National Target Program for Socio -Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas in 2024 of the Museum of Cultures of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups.

This program aims to implement the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State on the conservation and promotion of traditional culture of ethnic minorities in association with local tourism development. Effectively promote investment resources of the State, society and community in the conservation and promotion of fine traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities in Bac Kan and Hoa Binh provinces; contribute to strengthening national solidarity, creating conditions for the community to exchange and enjoy healthy entertainment from their traditional cultural values.

The program aims to raise awareness of the work of preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic minorities, highlighting the role of cultural subject capacity of artisans, village elders, village chiefs, prestigious people and ethnic minorities in ethnic minority areas in the current period. At the same time, propose solutions to preserve and promote the cultural identity of ethnic minorities associated with effective tourism development in the coming time.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requires that research and preservation of cultural arts must be carried out in a synchronous manner with the dissemination of the Party and State's policies and guidelines on the preservation of traditional culture. Regularly disseminate and integrate plans for the development of intangible culture and tourism into programs for research, preservation and promotion of intangible culture of ethnic minorities at risk of extinction.

Restore and preserve fine traditional cultures such as folk songs, folk dances, folk performing arts, and traditional crafts that are in danger of fading away and losing the identity of the Dao ethnic group (Dao Tien group) of Bac Kan and Hoa Binh provinces.

Organize support for research, restoration, preservation, and promotion of intangible culture of ethnic minorities and build models for preserving and promoting traditional culture to ensure practicality, effectiveness, and suitability to ethnic customs and local realities. Encourage and motivate Dao ethnic people (Dao Tien group) to actively participate in activities to preserve the traditional cultural identity of the nation; promote the role of ethnic people as the main subject in replicating the model of preserving traditional culture...

In the Plan, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism assigned the Museum of Cultures of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Ethnic Culture and related units and localities to implement support, research, restoration, preservation and promotion of the weaving craft of the Dao ethnic group (Dao Tien group), Cao Son commune, Da Bac district, Hoa Binh province; Support research, restoration, preservation and promotion of Pao Dung singing and traditional costume embroidery of the Dao ethnic group (Dao Tien group) in Binh Trung commune, Cho Don district, Bac Kan province.

In particular, the Museum of Vietnamese Ethnic Cultures coordinates with relevant units to organize investigations, surveys, and assessments of the current status of weaving in Hoa Binh, Pao Dung singing and embroidery in Bac Kan; propose solutions to preserve and promote the values of the above heritages; organize training and vocational training for artisans; take photos, record videos, and make documentary films about the process of organizing training classes, print DVDs to distribute to the community, promote at the Museum and promote on the Internet (Museum website, Youtube, Facebook) to serve the work of preserving and promoting traditional culture of ethnic minorities.
