As spring arrives, bringing with it a harmonious blend of landscapes, it's also the peak season for tourism . With its majestic natural scenery, diverse ethnic cultures, and numerous unique festivals, Hoa Binh is an attractive destination, enticing tourists from all over to visit, experience, and explore during the Tet holiday.
Tourists check in at the flower garden in Mung hamlet, Hop Phong commune (Cao Phong district), amidst a romantic setting overflowing with cherry blossoms.
As is customary, the Gầu Tào festival of the Mong ethnic group in Hang Kia and Pà Cò communes, Mai Châu district, kicks off a series of vibrant festivals throughout the province. This year, the Gầu Tào festival is organized on a district-wide scale, with enhanced communication and promotion efforts. Notably, the festival coincides with the traditional Mong New Year, featuring numerous cultural and artistic programs and experiential activities, such as a performance of traditional costumes of ethnic groups in Hoa Binh province, a rice cake pounding competition, traditional sports competitions, and performances of folk games like pao throwing and tu lu playing. This is also an opportunity for tourists to explore the community tourism destinations of Hang Kia and Pà Cò and have an impressive experience of Mong New Year customs.
Ms. Vuong Phuong Giang, a tourist from Hanoi, shared: "As someone who loves exploring the culture of different regions, I have visited many destinations in Hoa Binh. The community-based tourism destinations of the Mong ethnic group left a good impression on me regarding the preservation and retention of unique cultural values. I was very happy to celebrate the Gau Tao festival with the locals, and a week ago I celebrated Tet (Lunar New Year) at a local's home in Pa Co. The spring atmosphere in the highlands, along with the beautiful nature, colorful culture, and friendly people, left a lasting impression on me."
In the Muong Thang - Cao Phong region, convenient transportation infrastructure and a focus on developing tours and routes connecting various destinations have attracted a large number of domestic tourists. Notable routes include the Vietnam Scientists' Heritage Park in Bac Phong commune, the Mung hamlet flower garden in Hop Phong commune, and the exploration of the Dau Rong mountain cave complex in Cao Phong town; and the community tourism route and the visit to and check-in at an organic farm combined with eco-tourism experiences in Mo hamlet, Binh Thanh commune. Particularly noteworthy is the Mung hamlet flower garden, which attracts many groups of friends and families who come to check in and experience the beautiful Muong village scenery with its vast fields of spring flowers blooming across the magnificent terraced rice paddies. The Vietnam Scientists' Heritage Park has also introduced hiking trips to the Mung hamlet tourist area, along with many other attractive products, during the Tet holiday.
During the early spring season, eco-tourism, resort, and sports tourism destinations were also bustling with visitors, mainly foreign tourists and high-spending Vietnamese tourists, notably the Phuong Hoang golf course in Lam Son commune (Luong Son district). The number of visitors experiencing tourism services and products in the districts of Mai Chau, Luong Son, and Kim Boi increased significantly. The occupancy rate of accommodations at resorts and hotels in the first month of the year averaged 80-90%. Tourists gave positive feedback on the quality of accommodation services at these tourist areas.
According to Mr. Bui Xuan Truong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, tourism during the Tet holiday and experiential tourism are trends chosen by many Vietnamese and international tourists. Besides the beautiful resort areas concentrated around Hoa Binh Lake, and tourist areas in Mai Chau, Luong Son, and Kim Boi districts; community tourism destinations in ethnic minority areas of the Muong, Thai, Mong, and Dao people; and unique festivals such as the Tien Pagoda Festival, the Muong ethnic group's Khai Ha Festival, the Muong Thang Khai Mua Festival, and the Xen Muong Festival… which are about to take place, these are special products that will boost the number of tourists and contribute to stimulating the Tet tourism market in Hoa Binh.
