In chrysanthemum-growing areas in communes such as Dien Chau, Yen Thanh, and Quynh Luu, chrysanthemums bloom evenly, with large flowers and vibrant colors, meeting the demands of the Tet market.
Thanks to favorable weather during the growing season, with little prolonged rain or cold spell, the flowering plants are thriving. Gardeners report that the quality of flowers this year is significantly more consistent than in previous seasons, making them easy to sell and attracting early orders from traders.

According to reports, the price of chrysanthemums for Tet (Lunar New Year) has increased by 10-20% compared to last year, depending on the variety and time of sale. Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet from Dien Chau commune said that this year her family planted 8 sao (approximately 0.8 hectares) of various types of chrysanthemums. They started selling Tet flowers from the 22nd day of the 12th lunar month, with a quantity of over 100,000 plants.
Thanks to a favorable market, flower prices are higher than in previous years: netted chrysanthemums and various colored chrysanthemums are 4,000 VND/plant, and mirror chrysanthemums are 4,500 VND/plant. At these prices, flower growers are making a good profit.

Yen Thanh commune currently has over 5 hectares of land dedicated to growing chrysanthemums for Tet (Lunar New Year), concentrated in the Hen field. In the last days of the twelfth lunar month, the atmosphere of harvesting and transporting flowers to the market is bustling and lively.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tuan, owner of a nearly 1-hectare flower garden in the Hen field, said that at the beginning of the season, planting was difficult due to the weather, resulting in a low success rate. However, the selling price at the garden reached 4,000 - 4,500 VND per plant, significantly higher than the previous year.
By the 26th day of the 12th lunar month, approximately 70% of the flowers had been harvested and sold on the market. The smooth sales allowed growers to manage their harvesting time effectively, avoiding the situation of selling off their produce too quickly before Tet (Lunar New Year).

Due to the high demand for Tet flowers and the need for timely delivery, flower growers have to mobilize more workers to harvest, load, and transport flowers in time to serve customers.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoan, a flower harvester at a garden in Yen Thanh commune, shared that flower harvesting isn't overly strenuous or physically demanding, but it's always a busy job. In the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), orders from traders and individual customers are constant, leaving workers with almost no time to rest.
"Some days, customers call in droves, and we have to work through lunchtime, even snatching meals right in the fields so we can finish cutting and bundling flowers on time for delivery," Mrs. Hoan said.

Not only in Yen Thanh and Dien Chau communes, but also in many localities belonging to former districts such as Quynh Luu, Nam Dan, Do Luong, Nghi Loc, Tan Ky… Tet chrysanthemums are being grown by gardeners on a significant scale.
These days, farmers are entering the peak harvesting season to ensure timely supply to the market. According to our research, the selling price of chrysanthemums at the farm gate currently ranges from 3,500 to 4,500 VND per plant, depending on the quality and size of the flowers. This price is generally higher than the same period last year, bringing added joy to flower growers.

Chrysanthemums have long been an indispensable flower in every family during Tet (Lunar New Year), symbolizing longevity, prosperity, and good fortune. The high price of chrysanthemums during Tet not only brings joy and stable income to growers but also motivates flower villages to continue maintaining and expanding production.
