Connecting heroic memories with today's generation

As representative faces of Vietnamese sports , national gymnastics team coaches Truong Minh Sang and Nguyen Thu Ha could not hide their emotions when they were present in the Culture - Sports group parading at Ba Dinh Square. For them, the moment of walking on that sacred square was a deep connection between the heroic memories of the nation and the responsibility of today's generation.

During the days of the ceremony, both spent time watching documentary films about the resistance wars, about the sacrifices of their ancestors to gain independence and freedom. Seeing those images, the young couple felt lucky to be living in peacetime, to be able to contribute to the country through sports. They shared that it was this feeling that urged them to try harder, to strive harder to be worthy of what the previous generation had entrusted to them.

Previously, Coach Truong Minh Sang and Coach Nguyen Thu Ha wrote a beautiful love story of Vietnamese sports when they both grew up and their love was nurtured by sports. From a young age, Minh Sang and Thu Ha both left their families early to train in the national youth gymnastics team and the national youth artistic gymnastics team.

While Thu Ha is a “hot girl”, born into a family with an artistic tradition in Hanoi , Truong Minh Sang is an example of the rise of a poor, talented young man in Ho Chi Minh City. Their love story is also a living testament to the power of sports.

From two different paths, they met in the sports environment and together wrote a beautiful love story. And today, when they hold hands and walk on Ba Dinh Square on the great day of the nation, that happiness can be seen as a symbol of love between couples, love of sports, love of the Fatherland blending into one sacred moment.

Player Nguyen Duy Manh

From Changzhou Snowstorm to National Festival

If the couple coach Truong Minh Sang - Nguyen Thu Ha brought a story of love and sports associated with the Fatherland, then central defender Nguyen Duy Manh contributed to continue writing the symbol of indomitable spirit and national pride of Vietnamese football.

In the memories of fans, the image of Duy Manh planting the red flag with a yellow star on a snowy stadium in Changzhou (China) in 2018 still holds its value. It was not only the moment that ended a historic match, but also a strong affirmation that Vietnamese football always fights with all its heart for the flag and colors of the Fatherland.

Seven years later, Duy Manh was present in another sacred moment, walking in the Cultural - Sports bloc to parade on Ba Dinh Square, where Uncle Ho read the Declaration of Independence 80 years ago. For him, this was not simply a duty but a great honor, a happiness that any Vietnamese person dreams of.

The player born in 1996 could not hide his emotions when talking about the moment he heard the news of his selection. During the days of preliminary and final rehearsals, when he witnessed the old veterans still full of enthusiasm, he saw more clearly the responsibility of the younger generation to live, contribute, and fight with all their faith and aspirations.

Born into a farming family in Dong Anh (Hanoi), Duy Manh grew up at the Hanoi FC training center and soon affirmed his position in the national teams. From the miracle of Thuong Chau 2018, the championship of AFF Cup 2018, to ASEAN Cup 2024, he has always been a solid stopper, a symbol of indomitable spirit and perseverance. For Duy Manh, every match on the field is a "battle", where players shoulder the responsibility of soldiers - going on the field is to fight, to protect the faith and the flag of the Fatherland.

The image of the flag planted on the snowy stadium years ago is now followed by footsteps on Ba Dinh Square. It is a journey connecting the past with the present, from the memory of the snowstorm to the flag festival, from fighting on the field to the national festival. In both spaces, Duy Manh appeared with the spirit of being ready to contribute, ready to shoulder the responsibility of the young generation of Vietnam.

This year's National Day 2.9 is not only an occasion to pay tribute to the past, but also to affirm the aspirations and responsibilities of today's generation. From the love story and career of coach Truong Minh Sang - Nguyen Thu Ha to the proud footsteps of Duy Manh, all together sent a strong message that Vietnamese sports are not only about medals, but also about patriotism, national pride, and the bond between tradition and the present, so that the country can step more firmly into the era of prosperity and happiness.
