The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued a document notifying the People's Committee of Dong Nai province about protecting cultural heritages when building Ma Da bridge.
The dossier sent by the People's Committee of Dong Nai province to the ministry includes the approval of the investment policy and environmental impact assessment report on the investment project to build Ma Da bridge (connecting Tan Loi commune and Tri An commune).
In the project's dossier and environmental impact assessment report, it is affirmed that the project implementation area does not have any world heritage sites, historical-cultural relics, or scenic spots ranked as national relics or special national relics.
Therefore, the Ministry requests the People's Committee of Dong Nai province to take responsibility for related contents and data.
The Ministry also noted that the implementation of the Ma Da bridge project outside the relic protection area could have a negative impact on the original elements constituting the relic and the cultural landscape of the relic, and requested the People's Committee of Dong Nai province to direct relevant agencies and units to conduct a thorough survey.

At the same time, clarify the current status and existence of tangible and intangible cultural heritages (historical - cultural relics, scenic spots, intangible cultural heritages and related cultural spaces...) to fully and objectively assess the impacts (if any) of the project on cultural heritage in order to have solutions to protect and promote values according to the provisions of the law on cultural heritage.
Regarding other contents related to Conservation Areas, World Biosphere Reserves, and ASEAN Heritage Gardens, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requests the People's Committee of Dong Nai province to base on the provisions of the law on environmental protection and other relevant legal provisions to seek opinions from relevant professional agencies to ensure conformity.
Construction of the 133 billion VND Ma Da bridge project has begun.
Regarding the Ma Da bridge project, on August 19, Dong Nai province broke ground on the bridge construction investment project to facilitate traffic connection between Dong Nai province and Binh Phuoc province (old) to create a smooth traffic system in the new Dong Nai province.
Accordingly, Ma Da bridge is 210.4m long, crossing Ma Da river, the starting point connects with DT 753 route (Tan Loi commune), the end point intersects with the route connecting to Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 (Tri An commune).
Ma Da Bridge and the approach road have a cross-section of 20.5m wide, with 4 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 lanes for non-motorized vehicles with a median strip. Design speed is 80km/h.
The project has a total investment capital of about 133 billion VND from the local budget.
