On the morning of October 26, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Health organized the Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Health Sector with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long, along with nearly 100 outstanding collectives and individuals nationwide.

Speaking at the congress, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long commended and warmly congratulated the outstanding achievements that the Ministry and the health sector have achieved, continuing to strongly spread the spirit of patriotic emulation, making important contributions to the country's development.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the new development stage has many favorable opportunities but also poses many difficulties for industries and fields.

For the health sector, these are challenges such as globalization and international integration posing new requirements for disease control; many changes in disease structure; complex environmental pollution and social evils; increasing population size, people's health care needs are increasingly high and diverse; population aging trend...

This context requires the Ministry of Health and the health sector to promote their traditions and achievements. The Deputy Prime Minister also noted that the health sector needs to continue to promote more strongly the spirit of solidarity and responsibility in sharing work.

At the same time, we need to focus on improving medical ethics. Every cadre, civil servant, public employee, doctor, and medical staff needs to always maintain and promote the quality of "A good doctor is like a mother".

Promote digital transformation in healthcare management; deploy electronic medical records, synchronize health data between hospitals and medical facilities. Increase the application of artificial intelligence, big data, invest in developing software to support doctors in examining, treating and curing patients.

The Deputy Prime Minister stated that protecting, caring for and improving people's health is the goal, the driving force, the top political task, holding a priority position in development strategies and policies; and is the responsibility of the entire political system, the whole society and all people.

Over the past time, the entire medical industry has demonstrated the spirit of "white-coat soldiers on the front line", united, dedicated, and ready to sacrifice for the health and lives of the people.

In particular, through that, national pride, patriotism, unity, solidarity, many examples of self-sacrificing and selfless doctors, and many scientific initiatives have contributed significantly to helping the country overcome difficult times.

To improve patient satisfaction, the Ministry of Health has launched the emulation movement "Innovating style and attitude, improving medical ethics and profession towards the satisfaction of patients and their families" to improve the quality of comprehensive health care, including professional service attitude and solid technical expertise, to better meet people's needs.

"Through the emulation movement, many hospitals have clearly changed; patient satisfaction index is increasing; the image of doctors in the eyes of the community is enhanced," said Minister Dao Hong Lan.

She also emphasized the examples that have contributed on many silent fronts, from anti-epidemic movements, from medical facilities in remote, difficult border and island areas, etc. and many more examples that cannot be counted that have left very profound images in the hearts of the people.

"Most recently, there was the image of nurse Nguyen Thi Thuy Trang, neonatal department, Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, who bravely protected the safety of patients and their families in an emergency situation, leaving unforgettable marks in the implementation of duties and sacrifices of a medical practitioner," said Ms. Lan.

Looking towards the 2025-2030 period, Minister Dao Hong Lan called on all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in the health sector to continue to be more united, responsible and creative; focus on improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, promoting digital transformation, developing grassroots healthcare, strengthening the preventive healthcare network and spreading professional ethics.
