The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism mobilized 4.3 billion VND to support people in flood-affected areas.

Adding the proceeds from the auction of artworks, fashion, jewelry, and donations from workers, by October 14, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism had mobilized 4.3 billion VND to support people to overcome the damage caused by the recent storm and flood.

Information from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that since the launch of the fundraising campaign to support people affected by storms and floods for all officials, civil servants, public employees and workers of the ministry until October 14, the ministry has raised over 1.7 billion VND.

In addition to organizing donations at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism , the ministry also organizes donations at many events.

In particular, on the evening of October 11, within the framework of the first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the charity auction to support people affected by recent floods was very successfully conducted by the organizing committee, raising 2.5 billion VND.

Special products up for auction include: Hanoi ao dai from the 1930s, designed by designer Vu Viet Ha; ao dai and silk scarf designs by designers Anh Thu, Nguyen Mi, Van Hang, and Ha Trinh.

In particular, two works by artist Ngo Ba Hoang were auctioned very successfully, the painting "Old rowing song and kite flute sound on the golden field" was auctioned for 1 billion VND, the highest price of the auction; the ceramic art work "Mother and child" was auctioned for 555 million VND, the second highest price of the auction.

Thus, as of October 14, the total amount of money raised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is nearly 4.3 billion VND. The Ministry will promptly coordinate with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and relevant agencies to transfer to localities and people affected by storms and floods.

Donation activities to support flood victims will continue to be implemented by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in the coming time, in conjunction with cultural and artistic events organized by the ministry.
