Wax roses and teddy bears with many eye-catching designs and colors are priced from 50,000 VND/bunch. "These flowers are durable, do not spoil, and are affordable... Instead of choosing fresh flowers, in recent years, customers have preferred wax roses more" - Mr. Tran Van Binh (flower seller on Nguyen Trai Street, District 1) said.

Hot trend stuffed animals today such as Labubu, pink rabbits combined with flowers appear a lot in gift shops.

Da Lat roses are only 10,000 VND/flower. "Although today is February 14, the price of flowers has not increased, but even decreased from the beginning of the day to attract customers" - Ms. Lan (who sells fresh flowers at the corner of Nguyen Van Cu Street, District 5) said.

However, according to the reporter's records on February 14, most of the flower and gift stalls were very empty. "I have been selling flowers and gifts here for two days but there are very few customers. Today the weather in Ho Chi Minh City is rainy so there may be fewer buyers. We are hoping that this afternoon will be better but we are also very worried" - said Mr. Vo Van Ha, who has nearly 5 years of experience selling flowers on holidays.

This year, the price of roses has not increased, even though the Lunar New Year has just passed and the output of fresh flowers is not much.

At Ho Thi Ky flower market (District 10, the largest flower market in Ho Chi Minh City), fresh flowers for the February 14 market are sold in abundance but there are few customers.

Each bouquet of roses costs from 150,000 - 200,000 VND/bouquet, and retailers proactively reduce prices early to attract customers.

The price of Da Lat roses has increased slightly, at one point reaching 450,000 VND/bunch (50 flowers), now the price has decreased to 420,000 - 400,000 VND/bunch. Purchasing power is slow.

Supermarkets also offer gifts such as teddy bears, flowers made from candy, fruits, and cosmetics to serve customers' shopping needs. Many items are discounted by 30-50% to stimulate purchasing power.
