According to the report of the Da Nang Investment and Construction Project Management Board for Transportation and Agriculture Projects (the investor), the emergency repair project for the Thu Bon River embankment in the An Luong area (Duy Nghia commune) and the project to address coastal erosion in Hoi An are classified as Group B.
The construction site is located in Duy Nghia commune, Hoi An Tay ward and Hoi An Dong ward.
The project has a total investment of nearly 500 billion VND, aiming to address the consequences of landslides and ensure the safety of residential areas and infrastructure along the river and coast.

To date, the investor has completed the selection of the design consultant, finalized the topographic survey, and developed the main structural design.
Following an on-site inspection, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Nam Hung requested the investor to select a contractor with the capacity and experience for the An Luong embankment project, ensuring its completion before September 15, 2026.

City leaders also requested the Duy Nghia commune authorities to encourage residents to hand over the land before May 15, 2026, so that the contractor can start construction soon.
Regarding the project to address coastal erosion in Hoi An, spanning approximately 1,950 meters, the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee basically agreed with the proposed investment plan; and instructed the relevant authorities to promptly review it and submit a report to the city leadership for approval of the construction plan.

During an inspection of the Nghia Tu Bridge and access roads (part of the Co Co River project), the project management unit reported that the current construction value has reached approximately 91 billion VND (equivalent to 82% of the contract). The main bridge section has been completed; however, the 450m of access roads on both sides have not yet been constructed due to obstacles related to 20 land acquisition documents.
In order to resolve bottlenecks regarding resettlement plans, financial obligations, and compensation prices, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Nam Hung requested the Department of Construction and the Department of Finance to proactively coordinate with the investor and local authorities to definitively resolve the issues; ensuring maximum legitimate rights for the people.

City leaders emphasized the requirement to complete construction and put the Nghia Tu Bridge and its access roads into operation before June 30, 2027.
