Hoang Van Duong - Outstanding advanced worker

Mr. Hoang Van Duong, level 4/5 underground miner (Workshop No. 2, Giap Khau, Hon Gai Coal Company).

Mr. Duong started working at Hon Gai Coal Company in 2013 and has been working in the mining industry for 12 years. Currently, he is the Head of the Service Team, specializing in cutting and transporting coal, an important step that contributes to ensuring the smooth operation of the production line. On average, Workshop No. 2 mines 300-350 tons of coal per shift, in which Mr. Duong's team is always a key link, playing a supporting role and ensuring effective operation progress.

In the past 3 years (2022-2024), Mr. Duong has always excellently completed all assigned tasks, making important contributions to the overall achievements of the workshop and the company. As someone who directly works in difficult locations, complex geology, especially in areas with depleted resources, deep layers, where production costs are high and there are many potential risks, Mr. Duong has always demonstrated his courage and high sense of responsibility. Under the guidance of the leadership and the spirit of solidarity in the team, he has overcome many challenges, strived to compete in production labor, contributing to maintaining and stabilizing output in conditions of increasingly narrowing production areas.

Not only is he good at his job, Mr. Duong is also a person who always upholds the spirit of collective responsibility, actively helps his colleagues, especially mentors young workers, new to the profession. He is willing to share his experience, enthusiastically guide his colleagues to quickly adapt to the job, improve their skills, creating a team of high-quality workers in the production team. He himself always ensures the working day, maintains an industrial style.

At work, Mr. Duong constantly strives to learn, improve his knowledge, proactively explore and apply new working methods. He boldly proposed many technical improvement initiatives to the leadership and they have been effectively implemented in actual production. Typically, in 2023, he and his colleagues came up with the initiative "Processing a new set of SGB 520/40 scraper tails with a chain increase and decrease mechanism system". Based on the reality of the lack of replacement equipment for scrapers at curb 11, Mr. Duong proposed a solution to overcome this situation. The initiative not only helps shorten the replacement time, ensure safety, avoid production congestion but also saves significant costs for the Company, is widely applied throughout the industry, bringing great technical and economic efficiency.

In 2024, he continued to contribute the initiative "Anti-cutting and expanding the upper transport section at level -110/100 to serve the work of diverting coal transport at the -100 level of seam 11", helping to shorten the transport distance, save time, reduce the risk of congestion and ensure absolute safety in difficult geological conditions.

Along with his professional work, Mr. Duong is also an active factor in cultural, sports , charity activities, and emulation movements at the unit. He is always exemplary, enthusiastically participating and mobilizing employees to respond to social activities launched by the company and mass organizations, such as: Contributing to support families of workers in especially difficult circumstances, occupational accidents, and sacrifices in the coal production career; the new rural construction program; the movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor, no one is left behind"... In addition, he has proposed to the leaders to organize many emulation movements with specific characteristics, such as: "Taking on difficult projects", implementing "Corporate Culture", "Smoke-free Office", contributing to spreading a healthy and positive lifestyle in the unit.

With his positive contributions to the company, Mr. Duong has been awarded the title of "Emulation Fighter" for many years; received a certificate of merit from the Provincial People's Committee for his outstanding work achievements in the period of 2022-2023. In 2024, he was honored to be recognized as a "Typical Advanced Worker" at the provincial level. Mr. Hoang Van Duong is a typical image of a coal worker in the new era: Hardworking, creative, dedicated to his profession, full of compassion and aspiration to rise up.
