Logistics and Supply Chain Management is a field related to the storage and transportation of goods. New graduates can earn 10-15 million VND per month, and after 5 years, this could reach 20-30 million VND.
In the last 3-5 years, Logistics and Supply Chain Management has consistently been a popular major at many universities, causing admission scores to rise continuously.
For example, in the method of considering high school graduation exam scores, in 2018, this major at the National Economics University had a cutoff score of 23.85, increasing to 26 in 2019, and from 2020 to the present, it has consistently remained at 28. Similarly, during this period, the University of Electricity increased the cutoff score for Logistics from 14 to 23.5; Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment from 16 to 26.75 (2020-2022); and Commerce increased from 23.4 to 27 points.
Many universities have also added this major to their training programs, such as the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, Economics (Hue University), Transport and Communications University, Hanoi University of Industry (opened the major in 2020), Van Lang University (2021), Hanoi University of Construction, Dai Nam University, Quy Nhon University (2022)...
According to experts, this stems from the increasing demand for human resources in this industry. In February 2022, the FAST500 – a ranking of the top 500 fastest-growing businesses in Vietnam, compiled by Vietnam Report – showed that logistics businesses ranked second, only after information technology.
According to a 2022 forecast by the Vietnam Logistics Research and Development Institute, by 2030, Vietnam will need an additional 2.2 million workers in the logistics industry, 10% of whom will be highly skilled professionals with foreign language proficiency. Meanwhile, only about 2,500 graduates in this field enter the workforce each year.

It is a part of the supply chain, involving the storage and transportation of goods and services from the point of origin to the point of consumption.
"Generally speaking, logistics is the intermediary stage that delivers goods to consumers. Supply chain management, on the other hand, is a larger picture, linking the business processes of companies, including cooperation between suppliers, partners, manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, and customers," Ms. Mai said.

The specific curriculum will vary between universities, but there are some core courses that most students will have access to.
For example, the Banking Academy will offer courses in subjects including Logistics Business, Principles of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Warehouse and Distribution Management, Global Purchasing Management, etc.
