In the 2025-2026 school year, To Hieu ward has 669 students entering grade 1 from 5 primary schools: Chieng Le, To Hieu, Tran Quoc Toan, Quyet Thang; Quyet Tam. The schools organize to welcome grade 1 students, organize flexible educational activities, help students get acquainted with the classroom, friends, teachers, form initial skills, help them confidently enter the new school year.
Primary schools in the area are all well prepared, decorate classrooms vividly, assign experienced teachers, organize gentle familiarization activities such as: drawing, singing, dancing, storytelling... all creating a friendly, inspiring learning environment.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Que, Principal of Chieng Le Primary School, said: This year, the school has 28 classes, 1,036 students, of which, grade 1 has 6 classes with 198 students. To prepare students for a new learning environment, before the first day of school, the school prepared facilities and decorated classrooms in a friendly and close direction. On the first day of school, the Board of Directors and all teachers wore traditional Ao Dai, solemnly welcoming students at the school gate and in the classroom hallway. The comrades in the Board of Directors directly went to each class to get acquainted, chat, and encourage them to confidently enter the new level of education.
Ms. Lo Thi Dung, homeroom teacher of class 1A1, Chieng Le Primary School, shared: Two weeks before the opening ceremony is a valuable time for children to get acquainted with the classroom, friends, and daily routines and basic learning activities such as recognizing the first strokes of letters, how to sit in the correct posture, and learning about the school space... Familiarization activities are flexibly organized such as drawing, singing, dancing, and storytelling to create a friendly and exciting learning environment, helping children feel more confident when entering the official school year.
At Quyet Thang Primary School, this school year, the school has 565 students from grades 1 to 5. Of which, 100 are grade 1 students, divided into 3 classes. Mr. Tran Quoc Binh, Principal of Quyet Thang Primary School, informed: The school has equipped the classrooms with smart TVs, writing boards, and painted the classrooms. The teachers assigned to the classrooms are teachers with many years of experience in teaching grade 1. Therefore, the students have adapted to the learning method from playing activities to learning activities.
Wishing to organize a joyful first-grade school year for first-graders, some schools also prepare a "check-in" space to mark the first day of their children's new schooling. Parents and students are extremely excited, respond positively, and feel secure and excited as their children embark on a new learning journey.
