Accordingly, the 2025 high school graduation trial exam in Ho Chi Minh City will take place over 3 days: May 26, 27 and 28. The exam subjects are 100% of grade 12 students at public and non-public high schools, and vocational training centers, with about more than 100,000 students participating.

The mock exams are compiled by the schools themselves and must be kept absolutely confidential. The exam content must closely follow the exam plan, time, format and structure of each high school graduation exam from 2025.

The principals of the schools said that the mock exam is to help students get familiar with the structure and format of the high school graduation exam according to Decision No. 764/QD-BGDDT. In addition, organizing the mock exam also helps high schools evaluate results, classify students, and from there have a review plan, supplement knowledge and guide students to practice to help students achieve the best results when taking the exam.

According to statistics from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, the total number of candidates registered for the high school graduation exam was 99,578 (an increase of 8,891 candidates compared to last year). Of these, 1,638 candidates took the exam under the old program (GDPT 2006) and 97,940 candidates took the exam under the new program (GDPT 2018).
Statistics from the Department of Education and Training show that in the 2025 high school graduation exam, foreign languages led in the number of candidates registering with 49,328 students (accounting for 50.37%), followed by physics with 43,176 candidates (44.08%), chemistry with 27,796 candidates (28.38%). Natural science subjects (physics, chemistry, biology) were chosen by many students, with a total of 79,045 candidates.
