The event took place on January 18 at TH School, Chua Boc campus, providing a useful weekend playground, connecting family members during the Tet holiday.

The festival welcomed more than 300 visitors, 42 booths run by TH School Primary and Secondary students, with a variety of items from entertainment activities, cuisine , handicrafts... and some partner booths such as My Kingdom, Deli, ToDai Edu, PAC Group.

Realize ideas from the heart

Choosing the theme “From Heart to Hand”, the festival is a complete journey from the passion and unlimited creativity of TH School students to implementation, turning initial ideas into unique products and services. The goal of the festival is to encourage students to apply the knowledge they have learned into practice, practice teamwork skills, research skills, and confidently make decisions. In addition, a portion of the profits will be sent to the TH School Community Fund, supporting community projects to solve global problems that are implemented by the students themselves.

Being given the right to take charge of the festival, Primary and Secondary students presided over 42 booths with unique and fun products and services, bringing laughter and comfortable family moments together. At the food court, customers have a variety of choices from Vietnamese dishes such as baguettes, fruit smoothies, snail noodles, to international cuisine such as Spanish Churros, pearl milk tea, American-style cookies or hot chocolate. All are prepared and processed by the "little chefs" of TH School with fresh ingredients and guidance from teachers and professional chefs.

The entertainment, product and service area attracts many visitors to visit and experience activities such as making bracelets, handmade hair accessories, painting art statues, lucky spins, water guns, foam throwing... In particular, the booth selling instant printed shirts captured the attention of young people attending and "sold out" after only a few hours.

Sharing about his business idea, Dang Khoi, a grade 11 student at TH School - Hoa Lac campus, said: “We observed from our friends as well as ourselves and realized the need to own shirts printed with humorous images that are trending on the internet at reasonable prices. After surveying the market and other competitors, we developed a “business” to print and sell shirts on-site with heat printing technology using an iron, with long-lasting quality. We are confident that our booth will be successful because this is a very unique idea, requiring the seller to truly understand the consumer needs as well as the trends of Gen Z”.

Develop a global mindset with financial and business knowledge

The idea of organizing the Startup Festival originated from two core values associated with the development of TH School that the Founder, Labor Hero Thai Huong, chose. They are “Global Thinking” and “Dedication, Gratitude and Humanity”. Through the festival, students are given the opportunity to demonstrate their business, management and marketing skills to optimize profits with their miniature business models. In particular, the idea of sending a portion of profits to the TH School Community Fund reminds “young entrepreneurs” of their responsibility for the common development of society, empathy for people in difficult circumstances, and solving global problems.

Right from primary school, TH School students are introduced to lessons about the value of money, the meaning of work, and how to manage their monthly pocket money. They also participate in fundraising sales activities such as baking, knitting, painting, and running their own stalls.

At secondary level, in the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum (grades 9 and 10), students begin to study Business, building a solid foundation of knowledge in economic concepts. Through practical events such as the Startup Festival, students have the opportunity to directly apply theory to practice, practicing skills such as market research, observing customer behavior, strategic thinking, risk management and sales presentation.

These experiences help students understand customer needs, grasp future trends and trends, thereby developing unique business ideas and entrepreneurial motivation.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, parent of a 6B student, said: “TH School’s Start-up Festival is very meaningful to the children, because they are introduced to business thinking from a very young age. This whole week, my children and their friends have been preparing very carefully for their stalls, from preparing the cost of purchasing raw materials, materials, to packaging the products. In addition, the children also made their own plans and analyzed profits and losses like real owners.

The event created opportunities for the children to directly participate in the research and development of products and invite customers to experience them. The children also proactively settled their finances, not just simply selling a ready-made product. In this era, when children have such an entrepreneurial spirit, I believe that this knowledge will help them succeed in the future."
