Bac Kan Provincial People's Council will pass a Resolution approving the province's merger at the end of April.

The two most important contents of the report were carefully discussed and submitted to the 27th session for consideration and approval: approving the policy of merging Bac Kan and Thai Nguyen provinces; approving the policy of rearranging commune-level administrative units in Bac Kan province.

According to the Central Government's direction, the progress of merging provinces and cities as well as the arrangement of commune-level administrative units is very urgent. Therefore, the People's Council of Bac Kan province requested that the drafting of the Resolution on these two contents be implemented resolutely and as soon as possible to keep up with the general progress.

Delegates attending the meeting contributed many ideas on methods and solutions to draft the Resolution quickly, accurately, and ensure quality when it is considered at the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Bac Kan province Phuong Thi Thanh emphasized that the merger of provinces needs to be carried out in parallel to ensure that the new province has a stable organization and apparatus to operate immediately after the merger.

The committees of the Provincial People's Council must reach a high level of consensus with departments, branches and localities to develop content to ensure progress.

At the same time, urgently collect voters' opinions on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units and the merger of Bac Kan province with Thai Nguyen province according to the scheduled time from April 17 to 19.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council requested to send the submissions to the 27th session to the Committees of the Provincial People's Council no later than April 18.

As for the draft Resolution approving the policy of merging Bac Kan and Thai Nguyen provinces and the draft Resolution approving the policy of rearranging commune-level administrative units in Bac Kan province, it must be submitted to the Provincial People's Council no later than April 26.

Also at this meeting, delegates reviewed a number of other important contents to be presented at the 27th session of the Bac Kan Provincial People's Council, including: Adjusting the 2025 public investment plan using local budget capital; list of land plots for bidding to select investors to implement investment projects using land in the province; changing the purpose of forest use to other purposes; principles, scope, support levels and use of funds to support the protection of rice-growing land; zoning plan for the construction of Nam Cat Lake Eco-tourism Area...

The Provincial People's Council Standing Committee and delegates also agreed that the 27th session will take place from April 28 to 29.
