The workers of Nhat Thanh Rice Paper Company Limited are working diligently to meet customer orders on time.

For nearly two months now, the production and business atmosphere at Nhat Thanh Rice Paper Company Limited (Dong Mon commune, Ha Tinh city) has been much more hectic than usual. During this period, orders have increased significantly, forcing the company's eight workers to work overtime continuously to meet production deadlines. Normally, the company produces about 500 packs of rice paper, selling them for 16-20 thousand VND per pack, generating an estimated revenue of 8 million VND per day. However, during the period leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), production has doubled.

Ms. Tran Thi Canh, a worker at Nhat Thanh Rice Paper Company, said: "Customer demand increases significantly during Tet (Lunar New Year), so even though it's harder than usual, we workers are very happy because we earn more."

Mr. Tran Van Thanh, Director of Nhat Thanh Rice Paper Company Limited, said: “Since achieving OCOP 3-star standard in June 2023, the company has had more opportunities to expand its market to stores, supermarkets, and distributors in Hanoi , Nghe An, Ho Chi Minh City... From the beginning of October, the company has continuously received Tet holiday orders, so we had to work overtime to produce and supply goods to customers on time. Seeing Tet holiday shipments being continuously transported to all regions, I am very excited.”

Along with the bustling production atmosphere at business establishments, traditional craft villages such as the incense village in Bao An hamlet (Thach My commune, Loc Ha district), the fish sauce village in Cam Nhuong (Cam Xuyen district), and the spring roll wrapper village in Binh hamlet (Thach Hung commune, Ha Tinh city)... are also rushing into their peak production season to serve the Lunar New Year market.

The festive atmosphere of Tet (Lunar New Year) has also spread to markets and supermarkets in Ha Tinh province. Ha Tinh City market currently has over 2,000 businesses. In the final days of the year, goods such as Tet decorations, confectionery, clothing, shoes, electronics, etc., are concentrated in the market in greater quantities than usual, and the number of shoppers has also increased.

Having been in the confectionery business at Ha Tinh City market for over 20 years, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong said: “From around the beginning of November in the lunar calendar, our store started importing products with Tet packaging such as candies, soft drinks, jams... This year, we have imported more than 30% more goods than usual, and the prices of the products have not increased compared to previous years. We hope that in the remaining time of the 2023 lunar year, the market will flourish and Tet will be more vibrant.”

The stalls selling Tet decorations at Ha Tinh city market have imported a wide variety of items to give customers more choices.

Although the demand for essential goods has slowed down this year, businesses at Ha Tinh market are still proactively importing Tet (Lunar New Year) goods early to serve the shopping needs of the people. Clothing, shoe, Tet decoration, flower pot, and ornamental plant shops are bustling with activity. In this lively atmosphere, vendors are busy arranging and introducing products to customers, as everyone hopes to take advantage of the days leading up to Tet to boost sales and ensure a more prosperous holiday.

Meanwhile, at shopping centers like Co.opmart, WinMart, and dozens of mini-supermarkets in the area, the supply of goods this year is also more abundant than in previous years. Supermarkets are also continuously implementing many promotional and discount programs to stimulate shopping for thousands of products.

Besides that, online sales channels are equally vibrant, with many Tet holiday items being widely promoted on various social media platforms. Handmade food products are being sold in a wide variety of types and designs. Among them, regional products such as smoked pork, dried buffalo meat, dried bamboo shoots, veal sausage, etc., as well as Tet jams, dried fruits, candies, etc., are the most popular items.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khoa, Deputy Director of the Ha Tinh Market Management Department, said: “This is the time when goods for the Lunar New Year flood into markets, businesses, and warehouses in large quantities. Therefore, the Provincial Market Management Department has strengthened its management of the area, inspected and handled violations, counterfeit goods, and commercial fraud, especially essential goods with high consumer demand before, during, and after the Lunar New Year. At the same time, we are actively monitoring and closely following the supply and demand situation and prices of goods to respond promptly in case of market fluctuations...”
