Speaking at the conference, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Thi Thu An said that Dak Lak is a locality with advantages in developing agriculture, forestry, and processing industry, with 627,000 hectares of agricultural land, including nearly 300,000 hectares of fertile red basalt land, suitable for coffee, pepper, rubber, cocoa, macadamia, avocado, durian, etc.
Dak Lak province currently has the second largest durian output in the country (in 2024, it will reach 361,986 tons, an increase of more than 60,000 tons compared to 2023). The province's total durian area is 39,544 hectares (the old Dak Lak province was 38,800 hectares), the largest in the country, accounting for more than 50% of the fruit tree area. The expected output of the 2025 crop is estimated to reach over 390,000 tons. Dak Lak durian has long been favored by domestic and foreign consumers, including China, thanks to its stable quality, being assigned a growing area code and having a clear traceability of origin. The province is also promoting the export of this product.

Appreciating the significance of the conference connecting with the prospects and potential to boost the export of Vietnamese agricultural products to the billion-people market, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Thi Thu An hopes that the Dak Lak Business Association and the Chinese business delegation will promote connections, expand markets, and increase the value of agricultural products, especially in the context of official exports to China being increasingly focused on.

At the conference, Vietnamese and Chinese enterprises presented many important papers, focusing on assessing the potential, opportunities and challenges in agricultural trade cooperation. The papers emphasized the need to expand consumption markets, boost exports, and improve quality and design to meet the increasingly stringent standards of international consumers.
In particular, many opinions have analyzed in depth the main fruits of Vietnam such as durian, avocado, coffee and some processed agricultural products. Chinese enterprises expressed their interest in stable and long-term imports, and at the same time wanted to promote official distribution channels to limit risks for both sides.

The conference also recorded many memorandums of cooperation, orientations for building a safe and sustainable agricultural supply chain that meets international standards. Thereby, contributing to bringing Dak Lak agricultural products in particular and Vietnam in general to deeper access to the billion-people market, enhancing competitiveness and brand value.
