Online conference on Party foreign affairs and people's foreign affairs in the new situation

On the morning of November 24, the Central External Relations Commission held an online conference to disseminate and guide the implementation of Project No. 01-DA/TW, dated March 3, 2022 of the Secretariat on strengthening and improving the effectiveness of the Party's external relations until 2025 and Directive No. 12-CT/TW, dated January 5, 2022 of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership and improving the effectiveness of people-to-people diplomacy in the new situation.

Comrade Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central External Relations Commission chaired the conference.

At Ninh Binh bridge, comrade Mai Van Tuat, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council attended and chaired the conference. Also attending were comrades: Tong Quang Thin, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Bui Mai Hoa, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; leaders of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of a number of departments, branches and sectors; representatives of the Standing Committees of district Party Committees, city Party Committees, affiliated Party Committees and socio- political organizations at the provincial level.

At the conference, the delegates were briefed by the leaders of the Central External Relations Commission on the general content, objectives and requirements of Project No. 01-DA/TW and Directive No. 12-CT/TW of the Central Party Secretariat.

Project No. 01-DA/TW was issued to achieve the goal of ensuring the highest national interests, contributing to creating and maintaining a peaceful and stable environment, mobilizing resources for development, enhancing the country's position and prestige, successfully implementing the country's strategic goals and visions set by the 13th National Party Congress for 2025, 2030 and 2045; at the same time promoting the pivotal and pioneering role of the Party's foreign affairs. The implementation of Project No. 01 is determined to be the top priority of the Party's foreign affairs in the next phase. Therefore, the Central External Relations Commission requested the Provincial and Municipal Party Committees to issue specific action plans and programs, and at the same time pay attention to arranging staff in charge of Party foreign affairs as well as maintaining a regular information regime on Party foreign affairs.

In Directive No. 12-CT/TW, with the Party's viewpoint on foreign affairs in the new situation, building a comprehensive and modern diplomacy with three pillars: Party diplomacy, State diplomacy and People's diplomacy, the Secretariat requested Party committees, authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations and people's organizations to perform well the tasks related to people's diplomacy, continue to strongly innovate the content and methods of operation, and constantly improve the effectiveness of people's diplomacy according to the motto "proactive, flexible, creative, effective".

Speaking at the conference, delegates focused on evaluating the results achieved, sharing lessons, experiences, difficulties and obstacles in implementing foreign affairs work in each locality and field in the past time; at the same time, analyzing and clarifying the contents to effectively implement Project No. 01-DA/TW and Directive No. 12-CT/TW of the Central Party Secretariat in the field of foreign affairs.

Concluding the conference, Comrade Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central External Relations Commission, fully accepted the opinions of the delegates at the conference. At the same time, he requested that localities and relevant sectors focus on thoroughly grasping and creating changes in awareness of the role, position and importance of Party foreign affairs and people's foreign affairs, and consider this a task of the entire political system, of each cadre, Party member and citizen. Thereby, contributing to consolidating and building the Party, consolidating the great national unity bloc, practically serving the cause of building and defending the Fatherland in the new situation and successfully implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
