Every year, in addition to activities aimed at improving the material and spiritual lives of officials, civil servants, and workers, the Provincial Civil Servants' Union (CĐVC) and its affiliated unions organize many meaningful recreational activities for union members. This June, the 2024 Civil Servants' Union Sports Festival is taking place. This beneficial activity aims to strengthen interaction, learning, and solidarity among units, and create a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere for union members and workers.
To prepare for the Trade Union's sports event for civil servants, units have already planned and trained to participate in events such as men's 5-a-side football, men's and women's volleyball, men's and women's jump rope, sack race, and mixed men's and women's events.
At the Provincial Museum's court at 5 PM every day, right after work, the members of the combined volleyball team from the Provincial Museum and the Provincial Library put on their shoes and head to the court for warm-up and practice. Some are new to the sport, others have been away for a while and are returning to the court. Although there's a bit of awkwardness in handling the ball, everyone tries to improve themselves. As a result, each day's serves and returns are more coordinated, rhythmic, and professional, demonstrating high determination.
Mr. Uong Trung Hoa shared: After such training sessions, everyone improves their health, creates a relaxed spirit, and strengthens bonds with colleagues.
The Provincial Civil Servant Union Sports Festival will take place in the evenings from June 15th to 30th, 2024, at the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center and the Khanh Duong football field (Phong Nam commune, Phan Thiet city). It will include 21 men's football teams, 34 volleyball teams, 34 jump rope teams, and 34 sack race teams, with approximately 1,500 athletes who are officials, civil servants, and employees working at agencies and units under the Provincial Civil Servant Union. This is an opportunity to create a healthy and beneficial playground, meeting the needs and aspirations of officials, civil servants, and employees to improve their health, and motivating union members to successfully complete the political tasks of their respective agencies and units.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Phuc, Chairman of the Provincial Trade Union of Civil Servants, said: "A new feature of this year's sports festival is the inclusion of 5-a-side men's football in the competition program. At the same time, the men's and women's tug-of-war competition has been replaced with a men's and women's jump rope competition. These changes aim to encourage a larger number of union members and workers to participate, while the limited training time will not affect their professional work. This promises a vibrant 2024 sports festival with exciting and spectacular competitions between the participating units."
Maintaining and developing the Civil Servant Trade Union Sports Festival has been and continues to be an important contribution to building a beautiful culture, work style, and friendly, approachable image of cadres, civil servants, and workers in the new era. This is also a key activity in the series of events celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Provincial Civil Servant Trade Union (July 26, 2004 - July 26, 2024) and the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2024). Through this, outstanding athletes and teams will be selected to participate in the sports festival organized by the Provincial Federation of Labor this year.
