"Memories to the Future" - A heartfelt love for the homeland

(BDO) On May 30, Eastern International University (EIU) organized a book launch and music and art exchange program called “Memories to the Future”. The event had the special participation of Professor Tran Van Tho - Honorary Professor, Waseda University (Tokyo, Japan), author of the book “Memories to the Future” along with many researchers, lecturers, authors from universities; businessmen, social activists in Binh Duong province and Ho Chi Minh City; staff, lecturers, specialists and students of EIU.

“Memories of the Future” is a profound and moving work, the crystallization of more than half a century of scholarship and life experience in Japan by Professor Tran Van Tho. With more than 500 pages, the book is not only a personal reminiscence but also a connection between the past and the present, between memories and aspirations. There, readers encounter a profound knowledge, a delicate soul and a heart that has never ceased to worry about the fate of the nation.

The work reflects the author's two major concerns: how to develop Vietnam - from a poor and war-torn country to a high-income country and the ideal image of a developed country - where people have happy, civilized lives and are respected by the world .

It is known that author Tran Van Tho is a highly prestigious economist at home and abroad, has received the Gold Ray Medal from the Japanese Government and is a member of the Economic Advisory Group of many Vietnamese Prime Ministers. He is the author of many influential economic books in Japan and Vietnam, of which 5 books have been honored with the Good Book Award.

After the book introduction, the audience was immersed in a colorful space of music and art. The songs appearing in the work “Memories to the Future” or the love songs that have accompanied the years were recreated on the EIU stage in a gentle and profound way through the singing and playing of the artists and artisans.
