More than 1,000 union members and people joined forces to clean up canals.

On May 25, at Rach Sau Trinh (District 12, Ho Chi Minh City), Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union organized the 157th Green Sunday campaign.

More than 1,000 union members and people joined forces to clean up canals.

More than 1,000 union members, youth and people participated in dredging canals and cleaning the surrounding environment.

This is an activity in response to World Environment Day (June 5); commemorating the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh and welcoming the 2025 Summer Volunteer Campaign.

Youth union members also joined forces to clean up Cau Suoi canal; clean up and remove illegal advertisements in alleys and streets in District 12 and launch a green space in the Tecco apartment complex (Tan Thoi Nhat ward, District 12).

The youth teams also participate in propaganda and mobilize people to classify waste at source, limit plastic waste, use environmentally friendly materials; participate in caring for, planting new trees, and improving the landscape in canals and ditches such as Saigon River, Nhieu Loc - Thi Nghe Canal, etc.

Within the framework of the 157th Green Sunday, Youth Union organizations across the city also simultaneously implemented many community initiatives, such as: surveying, proposing environmental protection models, signing commitments to protect rivers, and coordinating to handle local pollution hotspots.
