Accompanying the soldiers

According to the reporter's records, on the afternoon of June 25, at the examination site of Nguyen Huu Huan High School (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City), at 1:45 p.m., many candidates were present to complete procedures, listen to the regulations and correct errors (if any).

Nguyen Khanh Linh, a student at Thu Duc High School, said she was quite nervous even though she had spent a lot of time studying, but she was not really confident. Nguyen Huu Huan High School has 594 candidates taking the exam in 25 rooms, all of whom are taking the exam according to the 2018 GeneralEducation Program.

At Thanh An Secondary and High School (Thanh An Commune, Can Gio District, Ho Chi Minh City), there are 43 12th grade students taking the exam this year. Of these, 19 candidates will take the exam at An Nghia High School, the remaining 24 candidates will take the exam at Binh Khanh High School (Can Gio District).

Mr. Nguyen Minh Phuoc, Vice Principal of Thanh An Secondary and High School, said that the candidates departed for the mainland on the morning of June 25 and arrived safely. "The students were arranged to stay for 3 days at Binh Khanh Secondary School (Binh Khanh town, Can Gio district). At the same time, the school also assigned teachers in charge and Hoa Phuong Do soldiers to accompany the candidates" - Mr. Phuoc shared.

At the Nguyen Du Secondary School (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) exam site in the afternoon of the same day, TS arrived at the exam site early. However, this is one of the 3 exam sites for independent candidates in Ho Chi Minh City (taking the exam according to the 2006 General Education Program), so the exam atmosphere was somewhat quieter than at the exam sites with 12th grade students.

Mr. Le Trong Nghia, head of the examination site, said that this examination site has 20 examination rooms, each room has an average of about 20 candidates. "This examination site has elderly candidates, many of whom live far away, many of whom are working, and there are also candidates who are soldiers and police officers in Ho Chi Minh City. I have held meetings and informed the examination supervisors that they must pay special attention, support, and provide thorough guidance so that candidates can complete the exam well, avoiding unfortunate mistakes" - Mr. Nghia said.

In Da Nang City, on the afternoon of June 25, all 31 examination sites in the area completed instructing candidates on how to complete the examination procedures and study the examination regulations. According to the Examination Council of the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang City, this year, 14,549 candidates registered to take the exam, of which 14,327 candidates came to complete the procedures, reaching a rate of 98.47%.

Earlier that morning, all the forces on duty at the examination sites had a meeting to deploy, carefully review documents, facilities and assign specific tasks. At the same time, protection and security work was also strictly implemented to ensure the exam took place safely and seriously.

In Can Tho City, the total number of candidates who came to complete the exam procedures was 13,672, 104 candidates were absent. At the Nguyen Viet Dung High School exam site, 486 candidates came to complete the procedures (100%). Student Le Thi My Tien said: "I have prepared very carefully for this exam. In addition to the knowledge reviewed in class, I also looked for exam questions from previous years to solve."

In Hanoi, more than 124,000 candidates have completed procedures and listened to the regulations for the 2025 high school graduation exam. According to Tran The Cuong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, in 2025, the number of candidates registering for the exam in Hanoi increased by nearly 16,000 compared to 2024, putting significant pressure on all areas of exam preparation and organization. "To prepare carefully for this year's exam, the department has organized training on exam supervision for all leaders of 171 exam sites in the city," said Mr. Cuong.

Everything is ready

Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that this year, the city mobilized more than 12,000 officials to participate in the exam; there were 99,578 candidates registered for the exam, an increase of 8,891 students compared to last year. This year's exam sites in Ho Chi Minh City will have cameras installed in the exam storage room, ensuring coverage of all items containing exam papers and exam papers in the room and actions affecting those items.

According to the report of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, in order to prepare for a safe, serious and regulated exam, the city has coordinated with departments, branches and sectors to support the effective organization of the exam. This coordination will ensure consistency and unity in the implementation of activities related to the exam.

Specifically, the city police force has actively participated in the role of timely professional advice, providing effective support in the activities of reviewing, checking and ensuring maximum security and confidentiality at the exam printing and copying points; ensuring security and order at the exam monitoring points; promptly and effectively handling issues arising from exam monitoring and exam security... The Department of Health has prepared health care plans and handling medical situations. The Electricity Corporation commits to a stable 24/7 power source with backup generators. The Departments of Construction, Science and Technology, Food Safety and the City Post Office have all had specific and comprehensive support plans.

Facilities and equipment at high school graduation exam sites are also carefully prepared according to regulations. All exam rooms ensure a minimum area of 30 m²/room, with 24 exam tables/room arranged according to regulations. The storage system is fully equipped with secure iron cabinets, 2-layer locking system and standard sealing, along with the preparation of more than 10,000 sets of records of all kinds.

Avoid risk

On the morning of June 25, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long and leaders of ministries and branches inspected preparations for the high school graduation exam in Quang Ninh.

Concluding the inspection, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long emphasized the special nature of this year's exam. This is the first exam for students studying under the 2018 General Education Program, while there are still candidates studying under the 2006 General Education Program who have not yet graduated or need to retake the exam for university admission. The exam is held in the final days of the government's restructuring. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the need to ensure safety and security for the exam, and to try to make sure that candidates are in a comfortable state of mind when taking the exam.

Regarding the exam questions, Mr. Huynh Van Chuong, Director of the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training, said that this year, the exam questions will closely follow the program but will be differentiated to help universities recruit students. Particularly for the exam questions for literature, the materials will be expanded beyond the textbooks, so students need to focus on reviewing knowledge and skills according to output standards instead of just focusing on some materials, or memorizing, or studying according to sample texts.

According to Mr. Chuong, in order for the exam to be held safely and seriously, the professional units of the Ministry of Public Security have coordinated with local police to ensure absolute security and safety for the exam council. At the same time, they have strengthened the work of grasping the situation, detecting negative risks of cheating and violations of the law related to the exam. In particular, focusing on grasping the situation, fighting and handling subjects who sell high-tech equipment used for cheating on exams or negative and cheating networks nationwide.

Regarding prohibited items brought into the examination room as well as preventing and combating cheating using high-tech devices, this year, the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Public Security have proactively coordinated to propagate prevention early and from a distance based on the positive spirit of the examination officers. Officers of the Department of Technical and Professional Affairs, the Ministry of Public Security and the Public Security of provinces and cities have thoroughly trained examination officers in localities to know how to identify, prevent and increase communication to students about devices and items prohibited from being brought into the examination room.

"Candidates should pay special attention to the fact that the exam is top secret. Using technological devices and items that are not allowed in the exam room to cheat is a violation of the exam regulations and can even result in criminal prosecution. Therefore, candidates should pay attention not to bring prohibited items into the exam room to avoid possible risks," Mr. Chuong emphasized.

Things to note

Mr. Huynh Van Chuong noted that in the days leading up to the exam, in addition to reviewing, students also need to take care of their health, not stay up too late, and keep a relaxed spirit to avoid pressure and stress. Along with that, they need to try to focus on reviewing the knowledge that they are not confident about, and not bring prohibited items into the exam room. Violating the regulations will affect the students' future, so students need to pay close attention to this. For parents, it is necessary to support their children's health and spirit as much as possible, but should not create pressure.
