According to Mr. Chuong, after the math exam ended at 4 p.m., the exam steering committee did not receive any information about the exam being leaked. In the evening, information appeared on social media that a question similar to the official exam had appeared on social media before the exam time had ended.
"Immediately after receiving the information, the Ministry of Education and Training coordinated with A03 (Department of Internal Political Security) and the Ministry of Public Security to find the source and verify in the spirit of ensuring compliance with regulations," said Mr. Chuong.
Discussing more specifically about the incident, Major General Tran Dinh Chung, Deputy Director of Department A03, said that immediately after receiving information from the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Public Security searched and verified.
So far, the police have identified three people involved in cheating on the exam. These candidates took a photo of a part of the exam question and transferred it to an AI application to solve the question.
The second incident was discovered in Lam Dong , in which a candidate installed a camera on his lapel, took pictures of the exam and sent them out.

“Through investigation, the candidate admitted his wrongdoing. In the coming time, the Investigation Agency will consolidate the case file, determine the level of violation to decide on criminal or administrative handling in accordance with regulations,” said Major General Chung.
According to Major General Tran Dinh Chung, cheating on exams occurred in a very small group of subjects and did not occur during the exam period. These acts did not affect the security and safety of the exam.
Mr. Chuong said that the use of AI for fraud is increasingly sophisticated, requiring synchronous solutions to fight and prevent crime.
It is important to communicate with relevant stakeholders about cheating in exams.
According to Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong, the Ministry's leaders did not make excuses or cover up but were transparent according to general instructions. "Immediately after the information was published in the press, the Ministry transferred the information to the relevant authorities to coordinate in verifying and clarifying. At the same time, an urgent dispatch was sent to the provinces to continue tightening examination discipline," said the Deputy Minister.
