Over 1.5 million people who rendered meritorious services received gifts on July 27th.

The Government Office issued document No. 4924/VPCP-KGVX conveying the opinion of Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra regarding the proposal to the President to present gifts to people who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs.

Considering the proposal of the Ministry of Interior in Report No. 4664/TTr-BNV dated May 15, 2026, regarding the submission to the President of the Republic of Vietnam to present gifts to people who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026), Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra has the following opinion:

The Minister of Home Affairs is authorized to submit to the President of the Republic of Vietnam a proposal for awarding gifts to those who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026). The Ministry of Home Affairs is fully responsible for the content, data, reports, proposals, and recommendations; ensuring that the implementation is carried out in accordance with regulations, preventing waste and corruption.

According to the Prime Minister 's proposal, the gift of 600,000 VND will be given to those who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution, including: Vietnamese Heroic Mothers currently receiving monthly preferential allowances; individuals who were awarded the title of Vietnamese Heroic Mother before July 28, 2026, but have not yet completed the procedures for receiving monthly preferential allowances; war invalids, those receiving benefits similar to war invalids, war invalids of type B, and sick soldiers with a body injury rate of 81% or higher currently receiving monthly preferential allowances; and resistance fighters exposed to chemical toxins with a body injury rate of 81% or higher currently receiving monthly preferential allowances.

The beneficiaries are relatives of martyrs who are receiving monthly survivor's benefits; relatives of two or more martyrs who are receiving monthly survivor's benefits will also receive a gift of 600,000 VND.

A gift of 300,000 VND is given to those who have rendered meritorious service to the revolution, including war invalids, those receiving benefits similar to war invalids, war invalids of type B, and sick soldiers with a body injury rate of 80% or less who are receiving monthly preferential allowances. This also includes war invalids receiving disability benefits; resistance fighters exposed to chemical toxins with a body injury rate of 80% or less who are receiving monthly preferential allowances; representatives of martyrs' families; and those who worship martyrs (in cases where the martyr has no surviving relatives).

The recipients include representatives of the martyrs' families; and those who worship the martyrs (in cases where the martyrs no longer have surviving relatives) will also receive a gift of 300,000 VND.

Nationwide, there are 1,563,392 people who have rendered meritorious services to the nation and are eligible for gifts at the two levels mentioned above, with a total budget of 475,879,500 thousand VND. This funding has been allocated in the 2026 State Budget plan.
