The event at the National Children's Hospital brought thousands of gifts to young patients, "awakening" smiles and giving them renewed strength.

Small gifts, laughter, and sharing brought a warm atmosphere to thousands of child patients at the National Children's Hospital ahead of International Children's Day on June 1st.

From 7:30 a.m. on May 30th, the hospital grounds were more bustling than usual as thousands of parents and young patients participated in the "Children's Day - Spreading Love" program. The children eagerly lined up in front of the free gift booths, personally choosing their favorite books, toys, stuffed animals, or backpacks.

Ms. NTT (from Ha Tinh province ) was moved to bring her two sons to the event. Both children are undergoing treatment for brain tumors. She shared that the days of battling the disease have brought many difficulties to her family, so the simple joy from the program is even more meaningful. "My children get to have fun, and I feel I'm not alone because there are always many people who care and support these young patients," she said.

Dr. Hoang Minh Phuong, Deputy Director of the National Children's Hospital, said that this year, the hospital is organizing 24 free booths with 12 groups of gifts, preparing more than 18,400 products for approximately 2,300 pediatric patients receiving inpatient treatment and examinations.

The "Rainbow Playground" experience area, with activities such as statue painting, sand art, electric cars, and physical games, also attracted a large number of children.

Earlier, on the afternoon of May 28th, the hospital organized an art performance program with various musical acts, circus performances, magic shows, and distributed approximately 400 gifts to the attending child patients.

According to Dr. Phuong, from the beginning of May until now, the Social Work Department has connected with more than 190 benefactors who have provided support for hospital fees, gifts, meals, and lucky money for patients, with a total value of nearly 2 billion VND.

Dr. Hoang Minh Phuong stated that the hospital always prioritizes mental health care for children alongside professional treatment. "For children undergoing long-term treatment or those with serious illnesses, playing and receiving support from the community helps reduce stress, fosters a more positive mindset, and thus provides strength for both the patients and their families," he said.

The series of activities on June 1st not only brought a more fulfilling Children's Day to young patients but also spread the message of sharing and connecting the community to work together to care for children undergoing treatment.
