The program was attended by more than 200 union members and young people from Nghe An Provincial Youth Union; Provincial Police; union members and young people from communes in Con Cuong district; militia and self-defense forces and local people.

This is the peak activity of the 2025 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign. Through the activity, we demonstrate the spirit of initiative and responsibility of youth, concrete actions, joining hands with the community to protect the environment, respond to climate change, prevent the risk of pollution and water resource depletion in mountainous areas.

On the morning of June 28, after a brief launching ceremony, at the yard of the People's Committee of Tra Lan town, the forces were present at a polluted stream flowing through Lien Tan village (Tra Lan town) to dredge and collect garbage, water hyacinth, etc. This stream has been polluted and blocked for many years. The most seriously polluted section is about 1km long, from the Hospital bridge to near National Highway 7. Because this stream has been polluted and blocked for a long time, the water cannot flow, greatly affecting the lives of the people.

Accompanying the youth union members and people of Lien Tan village, in addition to directly participating in cleaning up the canal, they also donated 100 banh chung, 200 bottles of water, 100 cups of coconut water, 20kg of fruit and supported resting places for young people.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Phuong Thuy - Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union shared: In recent times, environmental protection and climate change response have become important and regular tasks of all levels of the Youth Union in the whole province. Promoting the spirit of initiative, volunteerism and responsibility to the community, Nghe An youth have proactively and creatively implemented many effective models, projects and tasks that have a great influence on society.

Activities such as: “Green Sunday”, “Volunteer Saturday”, “Turning garbage points into flower gardens”, to campaigns to clean up the coast, dredge canals, clear streams, plant trees and afforest, build models to classify waste at source, collect recycled waste to raise charity funds... have become regular activities, becoming beautiful symbols of Nghe An youth in the journey to preserve and protect the living environment. Today's campaign is also a continuation of that spirit, a concrete action of Nghe An youth in preserving water resources, protecting the livelihoods of people and the local ecosystem.

"Each stream that is cleared today will be a source of life, each small action will contribute to creating great changes, spreading the spirit of responsibility for the community in the young generation" - the Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union emphasized.
