According to the Training Department of the Ministry of Public Security, the number of candidates registering for and participating in the Ministry of Public Security's assessment exam in 2026 increased compared to the previous year.
This year, the Ministry of Public Security has assigned 8 police academies and schools a quota of 2,070 students, determined according to each school, region, sector, target group (male, female), and recruitment method. The average competition ratio for admission to police academies and schools is approximately 1 in 11.
Candidates have 180 minutes to complete the exam, which consists of three sections: compulsory essay, compulsory multiple-choice, and optional multiple-choice. The total score for the exam is 100 points. The compulsory essay section is worth 25 points, and the multiple-choice section is worth 75 points.

To participate in the assessment exam of the Ministry of Public Security, candidates had to go through a rigorous preliminary selection round as prescribed.
Earlier, on June 20th, all candidates were present at the examination site to complete the necessary procedures, listen to the explanation of the examination regulations, and finalize their preparations before entering the official examination.
At the examination sites, the reception and guidance of candidates were implemented seriously, scientifically , and in accordance with regulations.
The staff, lecturers, invigilators, and support personnel were present from very early on to guide candidates in checking their personal information, further disseminate the exam schedule, rules, and regulations; and at the same time, clarify the regulations regarding items that are allowed and not allowed to be brought into the examination room.
Youth groups from schools actively participated in activities to support candidates and their families.
To ensure the examination process is safe and serious, before the exam takes place, the Examination Boards organize thorough training for all participants in the examination organization, especially focusing on raising awareness, educating , preventing, and strictly handling the use of high technology during the exam.
In 2026, the police training schools will maintain three stable admission methods: Method 1 - direct admission according to the current admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the regulations of the Ministry of Public Security; Method 2 - admission based on a combination of international foreign language certificates and the results of an assessment test administered by the Ministry of Public Security; and Method 3 - admission based on a combination of high school graduation exam results and the results of an assessment test administered by the Ministry of Public Security.
When registering on the system, candidates must list their first choice as a police academy or school. This is a mandatory requirement to be eligible for admission to police academies and schools.
