More than 500 domestic and foreign brands participate in "City Sale 2025" in Ho Chi Minh City

(HTV) - More than 500 domestic and international brands are participating in “City Sale 2025” in Ho Chi Minh City with discounts of up to 80%. For the first time, shopping activities are held right in Ben Thanh Metro Station, bringing a new experience space, directly connecting to the city's major shopping centers.

On the morning of August 29, the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City opened the largest-ever "Branded Goods Promotion - City Sale 2025" event, gathering more than 500 domestic and international brands. The program took place on the occasion of National Day, September 2, promising to become an attractive shopping festival for residents and tourists.

The highlight of “City Sale 2025” is the special shopping space right at Ben Thanh Metro Station. This is the first time Ho Chi Minh City has brought commercial activities to the Metro infrastructure, forming a “shopping route” directly connected to major commercial centers.

Brands apply promotions up to 80%, bringing many new experiences to customers.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Tai (District 1) shared: "This morning, my husband and I finished breakfast and went to the Metro to visit. We are very excited that the city organizes meaningful programs like this."

Many people also expressed their excitement. Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Hai Yen (Tan Phu District) said: "When I visited Metro, I was very impressed with the diversity of the programs. I hope the city will have more interesting activities like this for the people". Ms. Phan Thi My Loan (Binh Tan District) said: "The first time I shopped right in the Metro station, I found it very new and the goods were very diverse".

According to Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Nguyen Phuong, the model of combining commerce with Metro infrastructure will bring about clear results: "The city's commercial infrastructure still has many difficulties, so organizing shopping spots right at the central station will make it more convenient and at the same time be in line with international trends. In the coming time, not only Ben Thanh station but also many other large stations will implement this form."

In parallel with the Metro station, “City Sale 2025” is also held at major shopping malls such as Diamond Plaza, SC VivoCity, Mega Mall Thao Dien and on many e-commerce platforms. Mr. Le Viet Cuong - Southern Regional Operations Director of Vincom Retail said: “We mobilized more than 200 brands to participate with discounts of 50-80%. The number of customers is expected to increase by 60-70% compared to normal days".

Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung said that in the first 7 months of the year, the city's total retail sales grew by 15.5% and the target for the whole year of 2025 is to reach over 18%. He emphasized that events like City Sale 2025 will contribute significantly to the completion of the economic growth target.

The “City Sale 2025” event will last until September 7, continuing to affirm Ho Chi Minh City’s pioneering role in stimulating shopping, developing trade, services and tourism .
