Mekong Delta: Many key national projects under construction during holidays

On August 31, the Management Board of Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Projects of Dong Thap province said that on the occasion of the September 2 holiday, the joint venture of contractors mobilized over 400 workers, engineers, hundreds of specialized technical equipment, and organized about 40 construction teams to work day and night to construct phase 1 - Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway Project, component 2.

Component 1 of Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway project has been completed, reaching 1,057 billion VND in construction value.

According to the Management Board of Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Projects of Dong Thap province, by the end of August 2025, the contractors constructing the Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway Component 1 Project had completed 1,057 billion VND in construction and installation value, reaching 44.66% of the construction and installation value of the Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway Component 2 Project.

The Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Civil and Industrial Works of Dong Thap Province will strengthen inspection and supervision, strictly and seriously ensure the construction quality of the joint venture of contractors, and actively support units to remove difficulties and obstacles to speed up the progress of the project.

The An Huu - Cao Lanh Expressway Component 2 project through Dong Thap province is invested by the Dong Thap Province Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board.

The project started construction on August 12, 2024, with a total investment of VND 3,856 billion and a total route length of 11.43km. The starting point intersects with Component Project 1 at Km16+000, the end point connects with Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway at Km98+950, ​​about 1.8km from An Thai Trung intersection.

Can Tho - Hau Giang Expressway under construction during holidays

* Also on the occasion of National Day September 2, at the Can Tho - Hau Giang expressway construction sites, 50 construction teams with 900 personnel and 326 machines were deployed, focusing on important items such as unloading, curbing, compacting and paving asphalt.

The Can Tho - Hau Giang Expressway is nearly 38 km long, with an investment capital of more than VND 10,370 billion. It has completed 100% of site clearance and reached about 76% of construction volume.

The Hau Giang - Ca Mau expressway construction unit mobilized 89 construction teams with 1,549 personnel and nearly 1,000 machines. In addition to the roadbed and surface items, the units also accelerated the construction of the traffic safety system, ensuring completion on schedule. Up to this point, the Hau Giang - Ca Mau route has reached 70% of the construction volume.

According to Mr. Tran Van Thi, Director of the My Thuan Project Management Board (Ministry of Construction), the pressure on progress to complete the two expressways by December is very high, contributing to the goal of 3,000 km of expressways nationwide. However, quality and labor safety are still the highest requirements, and construction units absolutely cannot compromise on progress.

Currently, the management board and construction supervision consultants have arranged a permanent force during the holiday, promptly handling any arising issues, not interrupting the progress. Maintaining construction during the holiday will go hand in hand with a satisfactory labor regime for engineers and workers, so that they can work with peace of mind.
