According to the analysis of high school graduation exam scores released this morning by the Ministry of Education and Training , 656 exam papers across 9 subjects received scores of 1 or below. For each subject, the percentage of failing grades ranged from 0.004% to 0.022%, a decrease compared to last year.
English had the highest number of candidates failing the exam – 192. However, compared to the previous year, this number has decreased by 2.2 times. It also had the lowest average score at 5.45. The most common score achieved by candidates was only 4.2.
Mathematics had the second highest number of failing grades with 123 papers. Chemistry had the fewest failing grades - 14.
By locality, Hanoi has the highest number of failing grades in the country at 77. Ho Chi Minh City ranks second with 45 failing grades. However, these are the two localities with the highest number of students taking the high school graduation exam.
According to the regulations, students who receive failing grades will not be eligible to graduate. In that case, they will be eligible to be admitted to any university or college, regardless of whether their scores in the chosen subject combination are high or not.
