It conveys many memories and wishes.
For the past few days, in preparation for the art exhibition commemorating the 71st anniversary of the city's liberation and the Red Phoenix Flower Festival in 2026, young artist Pham Khac Phong from Phu Luu Street, Phu Lien Ward, has been diligently working on his stone sculpture "Echoes of the Old Village." The sculpture, carved on an old stone mortar, depicts rolling mountains, thatched-roof houses, a happy family with children playing, and chickens surrounding them… From this image of Hai Phong 's countryside, viewers can draw parallels to many villages in Northern Vietnam…
Inspired by the flamboyant red flower, a symbol of Hai Phong, Ms. Cao Thu Van from Thuy Nguyen ward imbues each ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) with the vibrant yet pure beauty of the port city's summer in her "Flowers Igniting Fire" ao dai collection. More than just a fashion collection, it represents the flame of compassion, aspiration, and beauty illuminated by the hands, hearts, and determination of Vietnamese women.

Along with her collection of 20 embroidered phoenix flower ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dresses), Ms. Thu Van also has a collection of hand-painted ao dai designs featuring small phoenix flower motifs, bringing a youthful, sophisticated, and vibrant look; and many other phoenix flower-themed products such as paintings, bags, scarves, and shirts embroidered with phoenix flowers.
According to Dang Tran Hien, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong Association of Skilled Craftsmen, the association currently has nearly 100 members, all of whom are very passionate and enthusiastic about their craft. For these artisans, although it takes considerable time and effort, they always find great joy in each completed work of art that beautifies the world…
Spreading love for the city.

With the desire to share their experience so that more people can learn to create products that symbolize the city, which are both attractive handicrafts and souvenirs for tourists, and also bring economic value, artisans and skilled craftsmen in Hai Phong create many playgrounds and forums to spread their love for their homeland in their own way.
Nguyen Thi Lien, an embroidery and crochet artist residing on Tran Kien Street in Kien An Ward, said that she has a unique collection of crocheted phoenix flower designs that are loved by many, especially gift and souvenir shops. Therefore, she has passed on her skills to many embroidery enthusiasts, teaching them how to crochet phoenix flowers.
In addition, embroidery and crochet artisan Doan Thi Nga in An Duong ward and sewing and embroidery artisan Cao Thu Van in Thuy Nguyen ward have also trained many women with particularly difficult circumstances and disabled women in embroidery and crocheting of phoenix flower patterns using wool, and hand-embroidering phoenix flower patterns on ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress)...

Ms. Cao Bich Thuy, Principal of Bac Nam Vocational College of Garment Making in Kien An Ward, who has been involved in the tailoring of suits and ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dresses) for many years, said that for artisans, love of the craft is always the inspiration for exploration and creativity. She also frequently creates collections that express her love for the city.
