According to PhoneArena , speaking at the MWC Shanghai event (China), Ming said the mobile phone industry is being held back by a lack of innovation, especially Apple, which is facing annual innovation challenges. Ming cited the example of the Dynamic Island feature, similar to Smart Capsule, found on the Honor V20 released in 2019.

Dynamic Island is a feature first introduced by Apple on the iPhone 14 Pro, featuring a pill-shaped cutout. This cutout can change in size and shape based on ongoing notifications and activities, such as charging status and incoming calls.

This is one of the standout features of the iPhone 14 Pro series, something even the standard iPhone 14 models lack. Following the appearance of Dynamic Island, several Android manufacturers quickly copied the idea, while some developers created apps to provide Android users with an interactive experience with the cutout.

However, Honor claims that Dynamic Island is actually just an idea borrowed from the Smart Capsule feature. This is a series of pill-shaped images displayed to the right of the camera cutout that can show information such as call duration. In fact, not only the Honor V20 but also the LG V10 previously had a small secondary screen at the top to display notifications and shortcuts.

Of course, Dynamic Island isn't exactly the same as the original on the Honor V20 because Apple has refined it to make it more vibrant. Also, Honor didn't talk much about this feature when their product was launched.
