Honor accuses Apple of copying Dynamic Island idea

According to PhoneArena , speaking at the MWC Shanghai event (China), Mr. Ming said that the phone industry is being held back by a lack of innovation, especially Apple is facing obstacles in innovation every year. Mr. Ming gave an example of the Dynamic Island feature similar to the Smart Capsule on the Honor V20 released in 2019.

Dynamic Island is a feature first introduced by Apple on the iPhone 14 Pro with a pill-shaped cutout that can change size and shape based on ongoing notifications and activities, such as charging status and incoming calls.

This is one of the standout features of the iPhone 14 Pro series, something that even the standard iPhone 14 models do not have. Immediately after the appearance of Dynamic Island, a number of Android manufacturers immediately copied this idea, while some developers created applications to give Android users an interactive experience with the cutout.

However, Honor claims that Dynamic Island is actually just an idea taken from the Smart Capsule feature. It is a series of pill-shaped images displayed on the right side of the camera cutout that can display information such as call duration. In fact, not only the Honor V20 but also the previous LG V10 also has a small secondary screen at the top to display notifications and shortcuts.

Of course, Dynamic Island isn't exactly the same as the original on the Honor V20 because Apple tweaked it to make it more dynamic. Also, Honor didn't say much about this feature when their product was launched.
