The Dai Ngai 2 bridge was completed 7 months ahead of schedule.

The Dai Ngai 2 bridge, spanning the Hau River and connecting Cu Lao Dung district with Long Phu district (Soc Trang province), has officially been completed after more than a year of construction.

On the morning of January 5th, Project Management Board 85 ( Ministry of Transport ) held a ceremony to connect the two halves of the Dai Ngai 2 Bridge construction project - package 11-XL (spanning the Hau River, connecting Cu Lao Dung district with Long Phu district, Soc Trang province).

The delegates proceeded with the ceremony of joining the two halves of the structure.

According to Mr. Le Dinh Thong, Director of Project Management Board 85, the project was approved by the Ministry of Transport on December 23, 2022.

This is a Group A project, a special-grade road transport infrastructure project with a total investment of VND 7,962.148 billion, funded by the State budget.

The Dai Ngai 2 bridge project has a total length of over 15km. The starting point of the project intersects with National Highway 54 in Hung Hoa commune (Tieu Can district, Tra Vinh province), and the end point intersects with the Nam Song Hau National Highway in Long Duc commune (Long Phu district, Soc Trang province).

The Dai Ngai 2 bridge was completed 7 months ahead of schedule.

The bridge is 862m long, with a total of 13 spans, and has 91 bridge girders (each girder weighing over 80 tons and nearly 40m long). The main span, 330m long, was constructed using a cantilevered structure.

To date, all 46/46 cantilever segments have been completed, 49/91 girder sections have been installed, and 8/13 super-T girder spans have been constructed. The project is expected to be basically completed and open to traffic on April 30, 2025.

When completed, the Dai Ngai 2 Bridge will connect the island district of Cu Lao Dung with the mainland, breaking the isolation of this region along the Hau River.

The overall project construction progress has reached approximately 60%.

Speaking at the bridge completion ceremony, Mr. Lam Van Man, Secretary of the Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee, highly appreciated the efforts of Project Management Board 85, the contractor, and the construction units for their hard work in completing the Dai Ngai 2 bridge 7 months ahead of the original schedule.

At the same time, he requested that the units continue to focus manpower, machinery, and equipment to accelerate progress in order to open the road to traffic by April 30, 2025, as committed.
